Julius Randle

Post#1 » by myrak433 » Fri Jul 1, 2022 9:08 pm

I know I will get ripped for this one, but I can see Randle in a Draymond Green type roll; Trae in a Cury roll and Murray in a Klay roll.

ATL trade Collins
ATL receive Randle and future protected 1st

NYC trade Randle two Future protected 1st
NYC receive star player or potential star player (maybe Ayton)

3rd team trade star player
3rd team receive Collins and Future protected 1st.

Maybe value off. What you all think…… go

Randle is, at best, a neutral defender. Asking him to step into that "dog" role is asking for trouble. Ben Simmons is a perfect fit for that role.

Now's the time to really make a move for ole Ben. Could have a truly strong defensive team with him and Murray being added.

The only problem with Ben is he can’t or won’t shoot. Randle has a really good midrange game and he is a respectable 3 point shooter.

Know who else has a nice midrange game and is a solid 3-pt shooter?

John Collins.

And he’s on a much more palatable contract.

Yes JC does have a nice midrange game and I believe he shoots a little better than Randle from long range. But JC cannot create his own shot. JC cannot create for orhers. JC cannot play point forward in the half court. All those things Randle does well (that is also what Draymond does to).

And as far as the contracts Randle is owe about 106 million over the next four seasons. Collins is owed about 102 million in that same about of time. Thats is basically the same amount.

Randle took between 16 and 19 FG per game these last three seasons. Good luck asking him now to take 10-12 only. And he needs the ball to be efficient.
I would have signed him years ago before NYK, but not at that contract.

Simmons cost a bit more but wouldn't complain about taking less than 10 shots per game, create more and defend a lot better
