This year's Dipo.

Warren was reportedly cleared to play in March. So he should be good to go for training camp.

People forget he was a 20 PPG scorer for 3 straight years. He's 28 now.

He might low key become the best player to get the MLE this offseason. At least if he can get back to 90% of what he was.

Agreed, I would feel a bit better if we end up with him.

Looking forward to today's summer league game. Will be a nice distraction from the free agency madness

If we're keeping Herro, he should be starting next season.

The good ole days, when free agency didn’t matter because we knew we had Wade regardless so we always had a chance

Wish we could clone Wade. My good ess. At his peak, he was the best.

I really feel that sustained success has to be a fortuitous 3 year draft rebuild where you can lineup big free agency acquisitions before salaries blow up.

All that takes a bit of luck as well. You have to hit on those drafts and the right FAs have to be available.

Imagine if Wade could have been paired with a couple more top five draft picks. Maybe he could've had more sustained success.

I think that’s the major difference between having a long-standing dynasty or not. Which I actually think we’re in the beginning of right now but it’ll be more through trades/free agency.

We have the cornerstone in Bam, we’ve added Jimmy as the superstar. 1 finals trip and 1 shot away from 2. You can argue injuries cost us the ring in 2020. Now you get KD and win at least 2 championships over the next 4 seasons, retooling role players as needed over the next 4 summers. Then KD and Jimmys contracts end and you pivot and finally bring in Mitchell and another one of their friends (Tatum?) and potentially keep KD and/or Jimmy on team friendly deals Late in their career to be solid contributors to the team and then you win rings in the new Bam/Mitchell/Tatum era :o

Obviously a lot of things have to go right for this to happen but these are all guys who want to be here and have been pretty open about it, we just have to make it happen. 15 years or so of sustained greatness

Either

Vincent/Smart/Bouyea
Strus/Oladipo/Mulder
Jimmy/Martin/Highsmith
KD/Melo/UD
Bam/Dedmon/ORob

**im sure this team will try to acquire a veteran PG like I have Bev in the next lineup. Think we’d love him if he gets bought out by Utah or in a Mitch package

Or

Beverly/Vincent/Smart
Mitchell/Oladipo/Mulder
Jimmy/Strus/Highsmith
Warren/Martin/UD
Bam/Dedmon/ORob

Bouyea 2 way

We can keep Lowry in a mitchell trade FWIW

This version for sure for me:
Beverly/Vincent/Smart
Mitchell/Oladipo/Mulder
Jimmy/Strus/Highsmith
Warren/Martin/UD
Bam/Dedmon/ORob

Although if Pat can hold onto Jovic, that would be awesome!! Would love to have one big upside project on the docket for the 4 spot to grow with Bam and Mitchell.

Wow I didn’t realize Pat Bev was in the last year of his contract. He might try to negotiate a buyout

I am low on Lowry… so I am on the trade his bum behind (and his horrible contract) wagon. Give me a 1-2 punch of Beverly and Vincent on defending the point of attack.

Alright so we say Pat Bev gets bought out and we also go all in to get KD what he wants by keeping Lowry Jimmy and Bam while gutting the roster. This is potentially what the roster could look like

Lowry/Pat Bev/Dragic? Schroder? Kemba?
Dipo/Avery/Javonte Smart
Jimmy/TJ/Ellington
KD/Ibaka/Melo?
Bam/Dedmon/Bryant? Cousins?

Are we ok with that? Honestly we probably call up some gleaguers for a couple of those spots but are we ok with that depth and everything?

If we get KD or Mitchell bringing in TJ to give us 15 a night off the bench would be huge. Hell I’d tell him to try to win 6MOY. Unless Dipo is off the bench with him in the Mitchell scenario then he very well could win it

ICC and watChOut after we get KD or Mitchell confirming what they’ve been saying. Old blood (watChOut) and new blood (ICC)

The more I think about it, a post-Achilles KD who will be closer to 35yo than 34yo when the 2023 playoffs begin is someone I'd definitely take on this team but not worth sacrificing more than Herro + filler + picks. I think Mitchell should be the priority here. Hell I might even prefer a Kyrie who wants to be here if we can get him on the cheap (Herro + filler if he signs extension or Lowry if not) and if he gives us a verbal agreement not to murder any CCL passengers
