Really ? Refusing Harris? A shooter that you need…jeez that’s either BS or Lakers are crazy. I get the contract argument but then at least you don’t have to worry about signing ANOTHER shooter next off-season.

Problem is the salaries.

Oh man, I thought they were closer. I guess the Nets would have to toss in Harris or Seth

why would the lakers balk at joe harris? irving and harris for westbrook is a huge win for the lakers. they have no other path to add talent.

If the nets can get a couple of FRPs, dump injured Harris and get some immediate cap savings then that is fine for a disruptive personality like Kyrie on an expiring deal.

Kyrie, Joe Harris for Westbrick, THT, 2 FRP..

Just two seasons ago.. Joe was one of the top shooters in the league.. Has had a down year due to injuries. He would be perfect in their system.

No way should the Nets have to include Curry. Don't know what they're thinking.

Laker haters already in shambles and we’re only in the preliminary discussions phase. League is in big trouble if this actually goes through.

We all deserve the Westbroook/Simmons backcourt drama. Maybe not the Nets fans, but man it will be entertaining for the rest of us.

That's the issue. The Nets aren't going to want to give value to get Westbrook and I don't think a 1st rounder is enough to get them to do so.

If anything, thye need to thank him for showing his cards because he was bailing next summer and they dont get a pick. Lakers lost out on 2 picks when Pau left and Dwight left which hurt them when they were rebuilding.

2 years ago Harris, sure. But he's a role player coming off an entire missed season. Is it clear cut that there isnt something thats gonna linger long term and he wont straight up be a 20 mill bad contract?

If I'm the Nets, I ask for at least 3 first round picks, unprotected. Lakers are desperate. Gotta take advantage of it.

Yeah, not a chance in hell that is going to happen, unless they somehow pull 4 unprotected 1st round picks out of nowhere(which isn't going to happen). The Nets would replace two good offensive players(including 1 all star caliber) for Russell Westbrook, whos a huge negative on defense and offense.

Two things.

1. Russ is just an expiring contract, no reason to even think about his on court play. He’s more likely to get get cut.

2. Kyrie Irving having an all star caliber season for the nets is fantasy. That’s not where things stand. He’s looking to get out and proven he’s willing to not play. Value starts with the understanding he’s unlikely to contribute in a meaningful way to the nets this year before walking away for nothing.

My guess is that the Nets are looking to get some value for Kyrie, but if nobody wants to give it them so be it. There's no reason to give up value with him just to get rid of him.

If Kyrie refuses to play they can fine him.
