Feel like we said the same exact thing a little over a year ago about Durant, Harden and Kyrie.

and Lebron, AD and Westbrook.
Nothing is a guarantee. I'm still not sure how I feel about Kyrie on the Lakers. Maybe Bron can reel him in.

Hmm not sure about “exciting” on that trio. Any trio with Westbrook post triple double MVP season was known to be a bust.

Yeah, I would rather keep Kyrie than trade him for expiring WB. They can do better than that....
I'm so tired of the typical......

WB isnt a headcase. He's just not good

Yeah, that's fair. He's sort of a model for Dunning-Kreuger and all, but he's not the kind to screw over his organization or anything like that. He just isn't good enough to merit his contract or his role in an offense, etc. "Headcase" has always seemed wrong as a label for what's wrong with Westbrook.

There's zero incentive for BKN to give Kyrie what he wants AND get nothing for taking on westbrooks contract.

Kyrie would still be distraction. Just like with vaxx even if he didn't want to comment on anything, the media would still seek him out for random questions. It's not like with Wall in Houston where he can just disappear and people don't even realize he exists.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

It's the final year of a terrible contract. It's still a terrible contract. I don't know what's not to get here. He's a bad player taking up like 30% of the cap for the year. Literally the best part of his deal is that you don't need to keep paying him after this year...

Lol but there's literally nothing for them to do with the cap space he's taking up. If this is the only deal on the table for the Nets, they absolutely have to take it.

If what is the only trade? Westbrook straight up? Then you're paying more money for a player that you don't want.

The question is what the compensation should be. I think the Nets have more leverage to ask for 2 1sts than the Lakers do to try and get it done for 1. There's a much bigger consequence to the Lakers walking away from a deal than the Nets.

I'm not high on Real GM's abilities of prognostication, but I do remember that even here people were pretty wtf on the Westbrook trade given the Lakers needs for shooting.

Why would they even get a pick? I'm not trolling you. Kyrie is a headcase and has one year left on his deal. The only place he wants to go is the only team willing to take him. Joe Harris has 2 years left at almost 40 Million and is coming off major injury. Westbrook massive 47 million expiring for Kyrie and Harris is a good deal for the Nets given their situation. If they get a pick you should be jumping over the moon.

this is a horrible deal. Kyrie is still a star when he's on the floor, check the numbers. Westbrick is a negative on the floor. Joe Harris is a top 5 shooter that can do other things. I don't know how ya can't see the Lakers are making out like bandits here. Lebron and Kyrie is a way better fit and he's probably the only one that can talk some sense into that nutcase.

Actually a good deal for both teams. If Durant and Kyrie really want out, Nets are essentially forced to punt next season. Taking back 47m expiring in Westbrook, and possibly being able to unload 38m of Joe Harris in the process, would give them great flexibility in a rebuild as soon as 2023 offseason. Then obviously Lakers get a guy who is better than Westbrook right now, and as important, a much much better fit. Westbrook next to LeBron was always a disaster (and I said that last summer as well).

Kyrie can shoot and score his ass off, and just go get a bucket at almost any time. Playing as a weapon in LeBron's game management makes him much more dangerous than the kind of wild west offense you saw from Kyrie everywhere else. Of course, who knows what LeBron still has left in the tank at his age, AD is always an injury away from being out 4-6 weeks, and Kyrie can wander off into the Hollywood Hills, but if the stars above Kyrie's flat earth are aligned and in mercury is in gatorade, they are 1st tier contender.

Kyrie is a net negative player who said basketball isn’t even his priority. He’s not worth anything

They will be good. But I don’t like lakers’ depth and will they defend?

Lebron is declining slightly, AD is injury prone. They need kyrie to actually play games.

And their defense is a problem.

Two years of a contract for a guy that can help them win games and hurt what HOU gets. I don't see that contract as a big deal as it's not even $20 million but they must want the space for someone else in a diff trade.

It would be the same old story of a LeBron team. Top heavy with no depth. I think they'll manage.
