Don't do it, Sean Marks. Trade him to Dallas.

Re: [HAYNES] Nets and Lakers actively talking Russ/Kyrie trade…
Should be a 3 team deal
Lakers - Kyrie + Joe Harris
Minnesota - Westbrook
BK - Dlo + THT + T.Prince + Lakers picks
Wolves were shopping Dlo, wouldn't mind seeing Westbrook in Minnesota, he'll get the ball to Gobert and Kat

Get to dump years of Joe Harris deal…
Two years of a contract for a guy that can help them win games and hurt what HOU gets. I don't see that contract as a big deal as it's not even $20 million but they must want the space for someone else in a diff trade.
Yeah that doesn't seem like a big deal to me, rather have a first

Funny that Haynes clarified to see these are "preliminary" talks, clearly a leak from the Nets side
They are trying to drum up other offers, like hey ya'll - if no one else offers up anything we are going to be force to take this poo poo platter from the Lakers

It's the final year of a terrible contract. It's still a terrible contract. I don't know what's not to get here. He's a bad player taking up like 30% of the cap for the year. Literally the best part of his deal is that you don't need to keep paying him after this year...
Lol but there's literally nothing for them to do with the cap space he's taking up. If this is the only deal on the table for the Nets, they absolutely have to take it.
If what is the only trade? Westbrook straight up? Then you're paying more money for a player that you don't want.
The question is what the compensation should be. I think the Nets have more leverage to ask for 2 1sts than the Lakers do to try and get it done for 1. There's a much bigger consequence to the Lakers walking away from a deal than the Nets.
Westbrook for Kyrie straight up is not possible. The Nets have to include Harris or Curry.

It will come full circle with Lakers salary dumping Mozgov using D Lo going to Nets. D Lo was used to get Durant. Now Nets use Kyrie to salary dump Harris to the Lakers. Lakers and Nets use each other like a toilet it seems

Desperate? We’ve resisted the Wall rumors, the Hornets rumors, the Knicks rumors, etc…Pelinka made it clear they have no intention of giving up a first round pick in any of those garbage offers. Kryie is a different animal altogether, well worth the risk.
Then the Nets should simply hang up the phone. There's no point in taking on Westbrooke if the net result for them is the same as keeping Irving. The Lakers want Irving and don't want another wasted year with LeBron and AD? Great, Pay the kings ransom or go ahead and keep Westbrook.
Lakers are prepared to hold on to Westbrook for another year (which is why they've been praising him in all interviews) and have a contingency trade for a shooter (more than likely who also expires next offseason) if this trade doesn't go down and will maintain their cap space to outright sign Kyrie without compensation. They've at least publicly remained optimistic they could improve from last season if given another opportunity.
Either Nets get a pick for Kyrie or let him walk for nothing and remain a distraction for another whole season. It's not like they don't have incentive to get this deal done. No one else is willing to trade assets for Kyrie. One FRP and maybe a pick swap while shedding one of their longer salaries could definitely be enough compensation.

Could be. I do think a couple of other teams should also consider taking the Kyrie risk.

You can always hold on to Kyrie and just let him walk for nothing in the offseason. Lakers aren't going to act desperate this time and are prepared for that with max cap space next offseason. You can't really fault the Lakers in this situation for setting their salaries/cap up like this and trying to improve their team.

I hope the league blackballs Irving as soon as his contract finishes. Hes done way more harm than good the past 5 seasons for the entirety of the nba

Why would they even get a pick? I'm not trolling you. Kyrie is a headcase and has one year left on his deal. The only place he wants to go is the only team willing to take him. Joe Harris has 2 years left at almost 40 Million and is coming off major injury. Westbrook massive 47 million expiring for Kyrie and Harris is a good deal for the Nets given their situation. If they get a pick you should be jumping over the moon.
this is a horrible deal. Kyrie is still a star when he's on the floor, check the numbers. Westbrick is a negative on the floor. Joe Harris is a top 5 shooter that can do other things. I don't know how ya can't see the Lakers are making out like bandits here. Lebron and Kyrie is a way better fit and he's probably the only one that can talk some sense into that nutcase.
The numbers look shiny 'when' he plays. But has Kyrie impacted winning in anyway since leaving Cleveland. He has won 2 playoff series in the 5 seasons since he left Bron. He is not a winner and will destroy your team chemistry while also being on a 1 year deal where he will leave 99.9% if you trade for him. He is also 30 now and injury prone. The player I just described is not worth much. Lakers are the only team desperate to take Kyrie because of the massive failure that was the Westbrook trade. They also have Bron and coach Phil Handy who Kyrie respects.

And waste another year of LeBron? The Lakers are the aggressors here.

I doubt Westbrook plays with Brooklyn. Either he is bought out or traded.
