Assuming this is a straight player for player trade, in your opinion who actually comes out on top in such a deal between the Lakers and the Nets?

Nether. Westbrick is garbage and would make the Nets much worse. Poor shooter, horrible defender, plays low IQ basketball, very turnover prone, and he makes over 45 million dollars. Even if the Nets got 2 unprotected 1st rounds from the Lakers, Westbrook alone and how much of a negative asset he really is make it a bad trade for them. As for the Lakers,I bet this team will still be a non playoff team even if they somehow got Kyrie(which is not going to happen). Him and Lebron don't the best relationship anyways and Davis is injury prone.

Lakers. Kyrie's a huge headache but he's a better player and fit than Russ. Gives them a chance to contend.

Kyrie is a significantly better player on a significantly better contract, so pretty clearly the Lakers.
Westbroook is more durable, though, I guess. Not that having him around all the time is so great.

Player for player? LA pretty easy.

Fortunately for Brooklyn it won’t go down like that.

Lakers are going nowhere with Russ, at least Kyrie is an all star talent that makes them stacked on paper

If the Lakers re-sign Kyrie, everyone else wins. But for one season, it benefits them greatly to give it a shot

Nets easily. They get to troll Durant for ruining their franchise by putting him through real life PTSD making him play with that chucking ninja turtle again while they shop him until the trade dateline. They have NOTHING to lose at this point.

The Lakers need shooting and they’re getting either Kyrie and Joe Harris or Kyrie and Seth Curry so obviously the Lakers win big.

They would’ve added Kyrie back in 2019 if they could have. He’s the guy they’ve wanted since then.

Lakers. They get the better player and wouldn’t have to play Westbrook.

In a way both could end up winners. Westbrook is a floor raiser and could carry Brooklyn to play in contention all by himself. He can look really good on a team without championship aspirations.

If Lebron can somehow control Irving and reign him in then the Lakers just might win it all next year. We already know that Lebron and Irving make a great fit on the court. If there's one player who can keep Kyrie in line it's Lebron.

It seems also just as likely (perhaps more likely) that Westbrook shows he's cooked and retires after the season. Kyrie could still be a toxic cancer who kills team unity.

Lakers.

Westbrook is unplayable if your goal is to win. He's a net negative on both ends, would prohibit younger players from developing and in general is one of if not the biggest ballhogs of all-time.

Lakers on paper but I feel in practice they will just end up like the Clippers. Paper champions every year but they're never all healthy at the same time to make a real title run.

If by winning you mean a 1st or 2nd round exit for the Lakers then sure, Lakers win.

Lakers because they get off Westbrick. Kyrie could not play a single game for them and it'd still be a win just because they don't have to lie to themselves about trying to make Westbrick work anymore. That's why every NBA fan that's not a Lakers/Lebron fan is beyond themselves with this trade because all it does it help the Lakers get right back into contention. They're already at rock bottom after the season they had last year, they have nothing to lose bringing in Kyrie since they weren't gonna contend with Westbrick anyway.

There is no way for the Nets to win that trade.
