I'm glad Murray is starting off with a great game. Too many people were laughing at Sac for the pick. If Keegan Murray was their guy and they couldn't find a trade with Detroit, they absolutely should have held onto the pick because they likely wouldn't have gotten him at 6 or after.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Yea i think a couple teams were trading up and were targeting Murray, including the spurs.

I went to today's games. It was obviously just 1 SL game, but Murray looks like a stone cold scorer to me. He just has that confidence and effortless shooting stroke. He has the size to get his shot off easily in most matchups. I see that translating to actual games. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he's ROY and leads all rooks in scoring.

Santos was a surprise. He has good size for a wing and seemed to be able to get into the paint on everyone of his drives, though he did turn it over too much. He needs a lot of refinement in his game, but there appears to be some decent things to work with for a #55 pick.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Keegan makes a few All-Star games. The Kings have made some solid moves this offseason imo. Even Mike Brown isn't a bad coach for a young team. He's a great X's and O's coach and has one of the most experiences on a coaching staff. His weakness is just that I don't think he demands the respect from difficult players/stars.

Drafting Keegan Murray, signing Malik Monk and trading for Kevin Huerter...looks like the Kings are on their way up

It's funny I said Keegan Murray is like TJ Warren in that he just knows how to put the ball in the basket and some people thought I was dissing him. He's just a lethal, efficient player with range.

That’s a really good comparison although TJ had more of a mid range game as a rookie. TJ with a 3 was a really good player before he got hurt. I think Keegan looked like a legit NBA player - you never know with summer league but he looked worthy of a #4 pick last night. Santos is a crafty player but I would be surprised if his stuff would work against veteran NBA bigs in the paint.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

He can produce Day 1 off the bench, no question. He's a better prospect than Huerter who went so much higher. I just can't get over how the Warriors managed to get this talent that late. So many awful G.M.s in the league smh

He’s not that athletic, isn’t a great shooter and got less exposure playing in Brazil.

For a #55 pick, there’s some talent to work with. He was able to get into the paint on practically every drive he made, which really surprised me because he’s not all that quick. A lot of those drives resulted in turnovers, but that’s a fixable problem. The ability to get into the paint like that is a trait you can’t really teach.

Side note: the Warriors were gonna sell him to Milwaukee, but the Bucks ultimately decided against it so the Warriors just ended up keeping him.

I am very meh on Murray as a prospect but the jumpshot is legit. Hard to take much from this game besides the shot but I have an open mind.

Maybe he can be what the Nuggets hoped a healthy MPJ would be

I'm buying a little bit of Kings stock and planning on watching them more this year. I think Sabonis/Fox/Murray could be a very exciting fit together. I know a lot of people wanted them to draft Ivey, but drafting another guard would have been another year of awkward fit, which is something Sacramento has suffered from for year. They've stocked up on guards in free agency (Huerter, Monk) so they aren't hurting in the backcourt, but now thanks to drafting Murray they have a nice frontcourt too. Barnes/Murray/Sabonis with Holmes off the bench. Murray can score the ball without hijacking any of the offense, so I see him bolstering Fox/Sabonis/Barnes who all need the ball in their hands more.

I was high on Neemias Queta in the draft last year, so nice to see him out there looking solid.

Yeah, I can kinda see TJ Warren comparison, maybe Granger too. I dont see great upside though. Dont know anything about the draft, I was surprised that he is so big, maybe because his name is Murray, my brain figured he must be like 6'4

Wonder will Kings bring Alexander Vazenkov, he would be good role player for them, he was amazing in Bulgaria-Lithuania game I watched the other day.
