Ah f*ck it.
Knicks get Mitchell for Fournier/Rose/IQ and both 2023 picks, Knicks 2025 pick, 2/3 of the picks from the Walker/Noel/Burks thing
Brunson/Mitchell
Mitchell/Grimes
RJ/Cam
Randle/Obi
Meetch/Hartenstein
etc: McBride/Sims/Taj/MLE or min guy/Fat Duke Guy?
What's your next move to improve the roster?

DMitch can kick rocks. I wouldn’t trade that insane package for LaVine or Booker. Not doing it for him.

He wants a Harden package lol. D Mitch is really really good but he isn't like top 5-10 NBA player good.
Lets see how Rose plays the negotiations.
No interest whatsoever in trading for Mitchell at half that price.
He is worth 4FRPs provided that not all 4 are unprotected. Which young player though: McBride, Grimes, Rokas , IQ, Sims? My guess is Obi/RJ our top 2 shouldn't have to go in the deal.
The Knicks have a lot of future picks, so if Leon did trade for Mitchell he would be using those mostly and not our current core of players. Like the Gobert trade.
I could see Quickley definitely being moved, as he wouldnt be needed anymore with Mitchell, Brunson, and Rose here. Maybe Randle gets swung to a 3rd team. If we can keep RJ, Obi, and Grimes thatd be great.
Brunson / Rose / Deuce
Mitchell / Grimes / Rokas
RJ / Fournier
Obi / Cam
Mitch / Hart / Sims
This squad would be fun to watch, but unless our young guys kick things up a notch it isnt winning any titles without another big move.
If Ainge is asking for too much tho, which he will, then just walk away cuz Mitchell aint all that.

Re: Knicks Free Agency Frenzy Part Deux
If I’m D. Mitchell I would absolutely want out of Utah now and would do all I could to engineer a trade to my preferred landing spot. And it’s not because the Jazz may not be competitive this year as they look to enter the tank sweepstakes for Frenchicorn.
It’s because Ainge has proven himself to be totally ruthless with regard to his own players. So, Mitchell should be working to get out of there now before Ainge picks his next team for him at the time and place of Ainge’s, not his, choosing.
With that said, though I like the player, I really hope we do not trade for Mitchell as Ainge would undoubtedly take our soul and leave us barren.

The Mitchell trade would be like the proposed Ivey trades, in that Knicks are getting a SG who can play some PG. (I get the height difference, cost difference etc), so there are scenarios where it's Rose going out and/or Fournier and/or Cam and/or IQ/Grimes.
Like, if Rose goes, maybe they are inclined to keep IQ over Grimes. They might value Grimes shooting over Cam's true SF height.
I figure Fournier is in any deal as he's 2/3 of the way to Mitchell salary, though I guess there's a way to move Cam\Rose, but I think the next group of players are too low cost unless Obi or RJ is one of them.
Anyway, you bring in Mitchell and at least two guard\wings are expendable.

Might take a year to rehab his reputation, but it's probably the move. Next offseason.

Is that team really going anywhere though?

It's like expensive shorter Hawks.

He can't force a trade and neither can KD. They are under contract for years. They can give wish lists if they want but, it doesn't matter much at all. Teams will line up for both players. The best deals will decide their fate.

I feel there is more value in moving him now, despite not getting much in return, than any additional value you get hoping he'll rehabilitate his reputation. Sometimes it's worth it to be patient in these types of situations, but I have very little confidence that's going to happen after what we witnessed last season. If you were willing to actually trade up for Toppin, and still believe in what you saw, consider not having to give up an asset to get him in that instance as the value you get from dealing Randle at low value.

Seems you haven’t been paying attention to the realities of the Player Empowerment Era.
It might help to review some real world case studies. I suggest starting with Anthony Davis, Paul George, and James Harden.

Re: Knicks Free Agency Frenzy Part Deux
Knicks should have several backchannels to Mitchell ranging from WWW to Leon Rose being his former agent to IQ hanging out with him often in NY recently.
Maybe he sees the backlash from KD and other stars publicly demanding a trade and he is trying to be professional and keep it behind the scenes.

Im with you 100%, but doesnt look like a Julius trade is on the table now. They will give him 1 more chance to redeem himself. I just dont know what that means, as you said.
If Julius does play better, he still wouldnt be trusted fully by the fans after all the chit he pulled before. Remember he already redeemed himself once after his 1st meh year here, and then reverted again. Him staying also means Obi is a 15 mpg player again, and something needs to give with those 2 soon.
So he should be moved now instead of later. Just trade him for Gordon Hayward and whatever else we can get from Charlotte. They need a PF now that Miles is prob done. Hayward has a shorter deal and can fill a hole at the 3 here when he actually plays.
The main issue with keeping Julius to “rehab his value” is what makes you think we’d actually trade him if he played better? Last time he played well we extended him and made him the face of the franchise, so ud hope they learned their lesson and are intent on shipping him out this time if we get a solid offer.

Are the Nets willing to trade Ben Simmons for Randle and 2023 1st round pick once they trade the two divas out?
I know he hasn’t played in a year but he fits this team from PG to PF defensively and is a good passer and won’t required to shoot that much.

That team is kinda like who do Randle, RJ and maybe even Obi become?
We pretty much know what Mitch Rob is....
We kinda know what Brunson is....
We pretty much know what D Mitch is....
Is there a surprise heavy contributor of the bench of who remains? IQ, Grimes, McBride etc?
If Randle is 2020 Randle but with an adjusted game of less iso and ball stopping, if RJ takes another step year 4 and becomes more efficient. If the team focuses on team defense....a few ifs but this team could be a high playoff seed ....

At best. It’s not a competitive team. Would go for stretches without reliable scoring throughout many games, especially in 4th quarters, lacks defensive tenacity and physicality as well as knock down shooting. Also I don’t think it’s outstandingly talented. Every team has some good players.
This team would be very streaky and volatile.

Uh, I get the defense, but Brunson, Mitch, RJ, Randle would lack reliable scoring?
I get Randle and RJ have a streakiness to them, but Brunson and Mitchell don't really.
And that's 4 guys capable of carrying the scoring the load at any given time, well, maybe 3.5, since not really sure about RJ.
Isn't likely one of them would always be on, at least the vast majority of the time?

I'd take being the same and those annoying 50 win+ seasons.
Listen, I have no idea if Mitchell is leaving, though I'd think he'd want to leave a team that is about to embark on a rebuild.
I know Hezi has said "They are in a good place! They got picks and that guy drafted #22!", but really?
While I guess they could use the picks to get a player, has that been Ainge's MO in a rebuild?
Mitchell has to be aware of that.
Also, Mitchell may want out to get to a team that at least contends, if not an immediate chip contender, vs a rebuilding team.
And maybe location has something to do with that.
Do I think that makes the Knicks strong favorites? No.
I'd think stronger than the Nets.
Then I see these 9 way trades where Mitchell winds up on the Nets. Without trading Durant. Really?
It's one thing to be able to dump crazy Kyrie for becoming worthless Westbrook, but suddenly there are enough picks among BK and the Lakers to satisfy Ainge? Really?
Anyway, he probably goes to Miami, but Knicks have a chance. It'll cost though.
They would not be the same. They would be infinitely worse.
