My offer based on KD saying he wants to be a Bull to play alongside Zach, DeMar, Lonzo and Caruso

Vuc, Pat, Coby, Bradley (cap filler), Portland pick and pick swaps rights for Durant

If that happened why we would trade a 21 year old ascending star for a 34 year old headcase that has never lead a team to a championship?

I have a hard time understanding how you can be so high about a player who showed basically nothing for star expectations.Durant is a superstar,Pat is only a young player with a lot to prove and would never be considered untouchable in any trade conversation especially one about bringing a player like Gobert or Durant.

I went with his hypothetical. If Pat became good enough that Nets would want him as the centerpiece of a Durant trade then we probably shouldn’t do it. Just like Phoenix would not include Booker for Durant. It’s a hypothetical question. I do think he will be considered an ascending talent by the time next season is over.

I really hope you can be right about that because we're essentially depending on Pat making a big leap forward for going deeper in the playoffs .At the same time it's a huge gamble to depend on a young player for getting more wins doing very little ( as signing Drummond) for helping that guy flourishing his game. It's safe to say that AK's situation depends on that ,if he can't get more wins and advance in the playoffs in the next 2 or 3 seasons he'll face much more criticism than now.

Such package would match his huge contract without going beyond the cap?

For me it is still hard to realize paying that much money to professional basketball players - but as long as the know how to behave it is acceptable for me.
If an organisation however is willing to pay bums like KI that max money they have lost me immediately as a fan. Winning isn't sweet enough to accept that.
Rodman was already hard to swallow, but he wasn't the centerpiece of the franchise, just a very important role player allowing the goat to fulfill his job, so I made my peace with that hiring.

Rodman was much more than a role player in that team,he was a superstar albeit a problematic one who reached the peak of his game with the help of Phil Jackson.

Would require Patrick breaking out this season and looking like a future star.
So no.

And I don't believe Pat will be that star in any moment.

What a disaster for BRK. I’d honestly just run it back- probably hire a new coach.

Actually it’s the opposite with Durant, why would you willingly invite cancer into the organism?

Murray and Gobert are more conducive to winning than Durant…….yes that’s what it’s come to.

I do feel bad foot the Nets and their fans.

The KD slander has gone way too far. Murray and Gobert more conducive to winning? Absolutely not. Durant was carrying the Nets all year into the playoffs. If you switch out Gobert with KD, the Nets are much worse off. If you left Gobert on Utah and traded Donovan, Utah is not making the playoffs.

And Jokic carries the Nuggets. Not Murray.

I wasn’t talking about Denver Murray, San Antonio Murray.

The point I’m trying you make is all the cancerous stuff affiliated with Durant outweighs what you get on the court. Greatest super team ever assembled ended up doing nothing and crippling a franchise for at least next 5 years. He had a huge hand in that.

The Bulls don't win sweepstakes for guys of the caliber of Durant. It's like a franchise motto. Once you know the Bulls are not getting a guy like Durant, you won't feel disappointed when it comes to fruition. Now when's he's 38, then we have a shot.

Tell you what. I am very skeptical that whoever trades for Durant will win a ring with him on the team. I think it's far more likely that team will eventually regret whatever the trade ends up being. Granted I'd be astonished if Durant were inexplicably traded here! He's proven that the four years of 'control' are utterly worthless. Whichever team trades him needs to be thinking they become #1 favorites or they risk the same catastrophe that the Nets are trying to wade through right now.

Ugh. Guessing the rest of any remaining offseason movement is now held up by the Nets trying to move Ben Simmons before they can move Durant.

I really think Irving is the key to getting Durant, and Irving value is low. DeRozan, Vuch and Ball for Durant and Irving. That is good value with them trading for Ben Simmons “Designated rookie max extensions” i Believe Ayton, Mitchell, Booker, Bam out unless Ben Simmons get traded. I like our chances

bulls should throw anything the nets want for durant. take a page out of the raptors book from 2019 and swing for the fences. this team will never win anything as constructed and is a lower seed playoffs team at best.

adding a durant caliber player no matter how many future picks / young players it takes is the way to go.

The only thing worse than trading for Durant would be trading for Durant AND Kyrie. Don't care how good they are they wouldn't be worth it Just ask Brooklyn....

That may be the only way we get Durant! I kinda look at it like getting Rodman Years ago high risk high reward. He would be a throw in Player to help bring in Durant. Irving has probably played as much as Ball in the last couple of years with higher upside

That's the deal I proposed-Ball/Vuc/DeRozan/CWhite, plus picks, for both guys

I would not like it, but
Irving/Ayo
Lavine/Caruso/Terry
PWill/JGreen/Terry
KD/DJJ/Lewis
Drummond/Bradley'/Simonovic
Is clearly a contender

BRK owes their picks to Hou, so tanking doesn't help them
Ball/Curry/White
O'Neale/Harris/White
DDR/O'Neale
Simmons/random vet
Vuc/Claxton
That should be a playoff team-and it adds high character vets to BRK-something the owner seems to want. We add the Port pick and our '27 pick

I proposed this one weeks ago before Durant asked for a trade when Irving was going threw his thing. Didn’t get any response in the trade thread. I think we can keep our picks and white. I want to keep our young guy cheap contracts and depth development players. The only trade out there for Irving is Westbrook. I think we can get him as a filler

Agreed. It reminds me completely on the 90s of people talking up Walt Williams as if he could be the next Scottie Pippen. Spoiler alert: he was never anywhere close.
