Just not having to cater to Westbrook and tip toe around his feelings is addition by subtraction for the Lakers.

I don't think the Lakers manage to finish the deal though, GM's dont like to deal with Pelinka and any other team can swoop in and steal Kyrie with an expiring and a 1st round pick.

That’s an absolute win for the Lakers. For the Nets, it’s tolerable.

Lakers would be dumb to give up a 2027 unprotected 1st and take on Harris' contract.

Either Irving and Harris for Westbrook and fillers(THT?), or Irving and Curry for Westbrook + 2027 1st.

I could see:

Westbrook, THT, and 27 1st to BKN
Irving, Harris, and Curry to LAL

Why the hell would we do that? Just give away two elite shooters for nothing? Lol

Let it go. Many of us love to call Durant and Kyrie byatches, but those same people need to take a long hard look in the mirror and sit down when they piss.

Thank you. Weirdos all across the board.

do we know this????

nobody wants kyrie and the nets want to get rid of his presence. IF they get something that's a bonus because right now kyrie's value is zero. the reason the lakers are the only team is because there is history between lebron and kyrie and last i saw lebron is not on any other team.

westbrook's lack of value is his contract and i think there are those teams who think he was in the wrong spot next to lebron. EVERYONE knows westbrook needs the ball and that was never going to happen w/lebron

Nobody wants Kyrie but yet, several teams showing interest including Dallas, NO and Philly. Make it make sense.

Considering contracts, personalities, and skill sets, Kyrie represents a better asset than Westbrook. I can't see how that's debatable. Lakers would need to add to Westbrook to get Kyrie, or they're ripping the Nets off.

I say this as somebody who honestly wouldn't want either player anywhere near my team at this point. I'd take Seth Curry, though. I thought he was the best player in the Harden/Simmons deal and if the Lakers somehow stole him in this deal, it'd be a crime.

If the Lakers get out of Westbrook's contract and get Kyrie who wants to be there without paying a very high price this is a robbery without Curry.

Agreed (thus the "ripping the Nets off" line in my post).

Just keep it simple and think about it from a basketball perspective. Spacing. Think about what the sharpshooters, Kyrie and Harris/Seth, will allow the Lakers to do in terms of spacing for LeBron and Davis.

Even if Kyrie doesn't play, they're still going to gain Joe Harris or Seth Curry.

The Lakers didn't have any shooting before this and now we're talking about them acquiring two world class shooters.

That's infinitely better than where they were with Russell Westbrook.

I’m still not seeing it- the lakers will be better but no where near a championship team. If everyone healthy Mavs, clippers,GSW,suns, wolves, nuggets,Memphis, Boston, bucks and Miami are definitely better than these lakers plus Kyrie…

This roster with kyrie will be the 3rd best team in California let alone the nba…

Plus lakers gonna depend on a guy that says basketball isn’t his top priority or even second… but at least kyrie got hooping in top 5 priority- but he can do that in an empty gym and doesn’t care what managment or the team thinks- Kyrie keeps telling teams the truth and they keep ignoring it. At least Westbrook is going to play and care. Kyrie gonna Boston and nets the lakers and the rest of us gonna watch the slow motion train wreck… while the clip show takes LA smh

AD has done his thing- has his ring… he is physically and mentally and appears to be emotionally done. Maybe he isn’t but it sure looks like a guy satisfied
With a body that hurts all the damn time. AD is the champion Andrew Luck… exactly why should he keep living in pain when he rich and young… plus he has a ring. AD isn’t ever gonna be in the top 10 like Duncan and that’s fine, he has proven himself… which is why he not only doesn’t touch a ball for 3 months.. HE also tells the world I haven’t touched a ball… after he spent most of the basketball season NOT ABLE TO PLAY… why does he need a break from touching the ball… lol oh cause F this painful sport! Silly lakers fans…

And Lebron is telling the lakers I’m out with my son gets to the league… while padding his all time stats… and Lebron is legit the only reason to watch the lakers cause he is a genuine genius physical god that still works hard and tries - but he can’t drag a bunch of ‘half in’ guys to the championship. And other than stats and bronny WHY does Billionaire Bron need to waste his time with kyrie and ad-

But good luck the whole world said Westbrook wouldn’t work but lakers went all in there… now who sees kyrie being a whole new guy because he is in LA? Lebron gonna make him come to work when AD will be hurt and over his house watching Netflix and planning murals while Lebron is playing the clippers and John Wall is the 3rd or 4th option and PG13 gonna be the second option and Kawhi is back playing half speed because he has a better coach and team…

Take Kyries word… he doesn’t care about ball… and take AD non-verbal hints… he is done… get Lebron real help

Kyrie and Joe Harris for Westbrook is the neutral deal for both teams. If Kyrie is threatening to pout and sit for the season trading him along with Harris saves the Nets some money and gets them a massive expiring contract. The Nets shouldn’t care anyways if they’re intent on trading Durant. Westbrook can either be moved at the deadline as an expiring or be part of a 3 team deal. For the Lakers they get their man and shooting without giving up any additional picks. I’m a Lakers fan, but if the Nets add Curry they should be relegated to the G league and as someone who doesn’t even want Kyrie, the Lakers adding picks to this deal is absolute malpractice.

Yeah if the nets give up curry it’s criminal- but think about it - no matter who the lakers pick up they gonna have the 4th best point in Cali and maybe the 3rd best point in LA… Reggie and John showing up is better than Kyrie 20% focus and time or Westbrook free styling

To Lakers: Irving + Harris

To Suns: KD + Nets Filler

To Nets: Westbrook (buyout) + Mitchell + Ayton (S&T) + Bridges + Bogs (or whoever Nets want from Jazz)

To Jazz: Simmons + THT + 3x 1sts from Suns + 2x 1sts from Lakers + 2x 1sts from Nets

Lakers get their Irving.

Suns get their KD.

Nets get a retool around proven 25yo and under players.

Ainge gets an overflowing warchest of draft picks. While Simmons recoups his value in Utah - so Ainge can buy low and sell high for even more draft capital.

Begley to his Nets source: so anything real with this Kyrie to lakers talks? Can we expect anything anytime soon?
Source: just initial talks expressing interests like they said, nothing more than that though lakers probably hope something happens soon
Begley: ah ok so just lakers hoping to get something done? How soon do they want it?
Source: if it were up to them probably soon like this weekend
Begley: Ok ok
