I'm spoiled with binging. I tend to lose track otherwise, even if it's only a week. Currently The Old Man, For All Mankind, final season of Animal Kingdom and Dark Winds are weekly with Better Call Saul and City on a Hill coming up in July.

The thing to do is wait until the season is over and then binge but I have no control when it's a show I really like.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Just watched E1 of The Bear. Great. Frantic. Turned on CC because I was missing some dialogue.

To stay on the topic I recently watched, and enjoyed, Chef, a 2014 movie with Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr, Bobby Cannavale, John Leguizamo and Dustin Hoffman.

I watched The Bear and liked it overall. Maybe some nitpicks or overdone things, but it's good. Funny Lip is basically playing the same character as in Shameless, but as a chef.

But watching that show led me down a bit of a chicago rabbithole which got me to South Side. I'd never heard of it so I assume most here haven't and would mention. It's comedy based in Chicago, hilarious and well done. Really easy watch. I'd recommend, its on HBO

No Stranger Things talk? Holy **** ****.
Spoiler:
My wife works for Metallica's management company, and it was tipped off that a song would be featured but I was still blown away by Eddie's upside-down-face-melting solo. I usually hate loving things that are super hyped and popular, but this show deserves every bit of fandom it gets.

Easy way out for Duffer Bros to kill off a newly introduced character, but they built Eddie up beautifully. I was the basketball and football jock in high school that also loved D&D and rock and roll, this all hit super close to home and I ate it the **** up. RIMFP Eddie, you metal deity.

Spoiler:
Eddie was a legend. The actor that played the character was goddamn amazing. And that scene on the trailer *chefs kiss*. The Duffer Brothers are seriously great at introducing beloved characters only to take them out later that same season.

My one gripe is them seemingly retconning the Mind Flayer. In the earlier seasons (and interviews with the creators) they made it clear the MF was this eldritch horror of inexplicable origin hellbent on taking over our dimension. Which is awesome. But now, it's actually Vecna controlling the MF. That reveal was incredibly disappointing on so many levels. I pray they have something more creative up their sleeve regarding the MF.

Spoiler:
The show just jumped the shark. This should have been the series finale. 2.5 hour finale would have been the perfect way to end it, kill Vecna, and set things back to normal. Given that he controls time in the upside down, I figured that they would kill him and somehow 11 would set the clock back to release all of the dead people that Vecna keeps.

Instead, we’re gonna have more seasons. The kids are getting way too old, you run the risk that some will have other acting gigs that will get in the way, or just demand too much money. Should have just tied it up with a nice bow in this episode.

Another annoying thing. This finale was 2.5 hours of continuous cockblocks for the all the love interests. So and so is about kiss, and pizza is delivered. Then in the forest. Then in the Soviet prison. I guess it is cute the first time, but just super formulaic when it happens over and over again.

Yea I thought his performance really stood out. Enough where an avg idiot like me thought damn this kid could have a real future as a star.

Side note, he big time reminds me of young Brendan Fraser. Especially if you've seen Airheads. To the point that I looked it up to see if it was his kid

Stranger Things

Spoiler:
Don't get me wrong, I loved Max's character, but I think it was a bit of a cop out that she survived. I think the stakes would have been super high had she actually died at the hands of vecna, setting up a great final season.

I completely lost interest in Stranger Things after the disaster that was Seasons 2-3, but with all the praise Season 4 is getting, I may have to jump back on board.

It’s a fantastic movie.

And the Chef Show on Netflix with Favreau and Roy Choi who taught him basic skills for Chef is also very enjoyable.

If you disliked season 2 and 3 enough to call them a disaster, Im pretty confident you won’t care for season 4. Its really just more of the same thing, perhaps a little darker and gorier, but also more bloated and just as serialized and formulaic and nostalgic.

I liked season 4, but
Spoiler:
am disappointed that this wasn't the series finale. I figured 150 minutes meant they were wrapping everything up, but instead it ended up just being another season with very long episodes. How long are they going to keep this thing going.

I think it's still probably the second best season after the first, though.

Spoiler:
Yea based on how they ended the season I think that would've been the better route. Watching it live, when it all went down and Max's life was saved to me that was them 'winning' and killing the bad guy since they prevented the 4th death. They had also done all the blowing him up, shooting, killing him etc. along with it. Then it comes to be Eleven actually lost and all that impending bad stuff was gonna be happening, and I was like ok if you say so, guess I interpreted it wrong. Have her die, like you said, and it makes more sense (not that a show like this has to be too logical, there's random leaps all over the place as they've been stringing these seasons together)
