I think allstar potential type player will fit what they're looking for.

I think that rumored PHX trade would be so solid for BKN if true. Ayton, Mikal, Cam and all the picks is a quality return. I'd love that package on the Heat.

Is there a reported solution for Ayton being a RFA and thus subject to BYC restrictions?

Does BYC hinder this trade?

Ayton has a $16 mil QO, Bridges is at $21 mil, Cam at $6 mil. That's Durants salary right there.

If Ayton is signed and traded for a higher number isn't his trade value his QO?

Oh no not this again. This room has no tolerance for development. Everytime a young player had a bad month yall ramp up the trade machine. The last time we went after Durant the same three stages of depression yall went through. Its like a timeloop cycle

Doesnt always work that way. Look at how many top 10 picks become bust every year. Look at what happen to the 76ers . They are good now but it took them almost ten years of sucking and top pics or you can get very luck and get a Doncic type.

And the narrative shaping of needing us to keep Lowry in a deal starts to bear fruit. Now perception starts to reflect increased value for Lowry and a concession on Miami’s part including Lowry

ICC has been kidnapped by them goons from Dade county, watChOut is formulating some bs plot twist excuse in all of this, and Heat Twitter has abandoned Kd and moved on to Mitchell. We’ll see what happens, free ICC!

Disagree.

I think Tyler can develop braids with another full offseason. He’s shown potential.

Tyler Herro already had a better season in 3 years than Clarkson has had in his entire career. The disrespect is real. Lol

Tyler Herro is a bonafide 20ppg scorer on a contender at the age of 22. We don't know his ceiling, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a 25 year old Tyler Herro averaging 25, 5, and 5 on 45/40/90 shooting splits.

I've always thought that way.

We continue to fight an uphill battle every offseason. Praying for our culture to convince a top shelf FA to sign with us.

We've got such a legendary GM in Pat Riley that we at least get into the conversations each year.

However, without our own top 5 draft pick (Wade) we have zero titles. He was the one that brought Lebron and Bosh. He was also the one who almost made that happen in another city too. They wanted to play together more than they cared about Pat and Miami.

Just peruse the last 20 years of titles. Curry, Duncan, Kobe, Wade, Giannis, etc. What's that, 17 of the last 20 titles going to elite players playing for their draft team?

You build a team through the draft as quick as you can (3 years feels like the sweet spot) and provide the perfect landing spot for a high profile free agent. Not saying that getting a generational guy is easy, but that's the best cycle IMO.

If you strike out due to poor draft classes, injuries, personalities, or bad luck, then you reset and try again.

ICC said this holiday weekend would slow things down. Seems pretty logical. I would consider Tuesday evening a good time to scoot forward to the edge of your seat.

Like many other businesses, some teams are very mismanaged. Poorly organized. That's why getting a masterful GM in place is so important.

I wouldn't use the track record of poorly run teams to make an argument.

As for the Sixers, they turned that team around real fast with Hinkie, using his methods to scrap the treadmill and focus on rebuilding. They got their elite talent in Joel and then promptly kicked Hinkie to the curb. They've been phucking that team up ever since.

Its hard to do because the assumption is you’re automatically hitting on all 3 picks. Orlando drafted Oladipo, Gordon, and Hezonja top 5 in 3 consecutive years. Sacramento went WCS, Chriss, Fox and Bagley in 4 consecutive years. Minnesota drafted KAT and Kris Dunn in B2B years and then needed 3 more trips to the lottery to get it right with Anthony Edwards. Sucking for 3 years can turn into 15 years of mediocrity real quick.

July 14, 2004 - Shaq traded to Miami
Aug 2, 2005 - Walker/Williams traded to Miami
Nov 3, 1995 - Zo traded to Miami

The offseason is young. Long way to go.

It’s been confirmed that BYC factors into this deal. I defer to those that want to run the numbers on what that would mean. I’m sure it depends on what offer Ayton gets on the market

Yeah it does.

Here's the explanation:

Let’s say the Suns want to sign-and-trade Deandre Ayton this offseason. He’s a Bird free agent, his new salary will be well above the minimum, and the Suns project to be an over-the-cap team. Having made $12,632,950 in 2018/19, Ayton figures to receive a raise significantly higher than 20% — if he signs a maximum salary contract, it’s projected to start at $30,500,000. So he meets the BYC criteria.

In a scenario where he signs a max deal as part of a sign-and-trade, Ayton’s salary for matching purposes from the Suns’ perspective would be $15,250,000, which is 50% of his new salary (that amount is greater than his previous salary). From his new team’s perspective, Ayton’s incoming figure would be his actual salary, $30,500,000

With that, the numbers I quoted should make it a fairly even trade with those players and picks.
