Re: NBA Summer League 2022
Murray had two or three nice passes but his teammates missed the shot or moved the ball. That's something to keep an eye on because that is one of the areas where he needs to improve the most.

Re: NBA Summer League 2022
I think the absolute upside of Murray would be prime Rashard Lewis and that seems like a huge stretch.
A better shooting, not as good shot creating, version of TJ Warren seems like a decent, realistic comp.
Man the kings are going to be the worst defensive team in the league tho

Yeah he doesn't have the raw athleticism and quickness that Lewis did as a rookie etc.

The Lewis comp always seemed like it was off the mark for me. I like a modern Antwan Jamison comparison personally. He has no hesitation off the catch and looks light on his feet. So far so good.

Yea Lewis was like my pie in the sky comp. Murray looks really limited as a shot creator.
I like the Jamison comp but a better shooter for sure

Why not compare him to his teammate Harrison Barnes? That seems the most apt to me.

Sure why not. It’s probably more realistic than Jamison but Barnes is such a boring player. I was trying to at least have a bit more excitement

can't wait for the first regular season game between the Heat and the Nuggets. I hope Spo doesn't become a party pooper and should play Jovic while Jokic is on the floor too even for a few minutes

The Kings looked pretty good if you ignore the atrocious 3 point shooting. I would expect them to wreck the Heat....not that it matters

He looks extremely poised, crafty, and skilled. All while being 6'6-6'7" with length and decent athleticism. How the hell did he fall so far? I wouldn't be surprised if he got more run than Kuminga. He can produce Day 1 off the bench, no question. He's a better prospect than Huerter who went so much higher. I just can't get over how the Warriors managed to get this talent that late. So many awful G.M.s in the league smh
All that from one summer league game?
More run than Kuminga? Already better than Huerter?
Here come the summer league hot takes I guess.
He might be a solid #55 pick but he's nowhere near the athlete or prospect that Kuminga is, c'mon now.

He doesn't look ready for the NBA right now but the upside is intriguing. A year in the G-League and let him develop his ball handling skills and it gets interesting. What do you expect Kuminga to become? I really don't think he's that impressive. He's a high energy defender maybe he can develop into an elite one, pretty good rebounder, decent finisher. Realistically he's a high level role player / glue guy who can be really important for a team but like maybe your 5th or 6th best player?

I'm really high on Kuminga's potential, he can be a multi-time all star.
Tremendous athlete - already has a grown man body - long, strong, and quick... can finish at the rim in traffic.
3 level aggressive scorer.
Solid handles and vision for his age.
Switchable defender bigs and smalls.
He's still a pup though, a little bit raw, and does need to continue refining his game and work on his IQ and recognition.
He's also in an ideal situation in GS with lots of leadership and role models and can be brought along slowly.
Sky is the limit IMO.

Yea I don’t see it. 3 level scorer? He had no pull up mid range game and was a below average shooter from 3 despite being left WIDE open.
Stranger things have happened I suppose but I just don’t see a path to him developing that as long as he’s on the Warriors

Let's see Murray's 2nd game. I hope Heat's SLeaguers key on him on D to see how he responds coz real NBA players will give him a tougher time obviously.

I was thinking he looked like Barnes when I was watching the highlights.
