It's just summer league... but I had him 5 on my board and to be honest, I didn't mind him going 4th. Ivey has more potential but potential doesn't always develop so I understand going for more of the sure thing. His defense has been meh so far though.

Wow, never saw any tape of Gui Santos before. The Warriors are on fire drafting. He looks like he should have went top 20.

Been hyping him as lotto talent for a while now. Was the biggest whiff by GMs, but he still has to continue to show out....

http://jtmbasketball.blogspot.com/2022/06/spotlight-on-gui-santos-tough-bol-cruz.html

Everything he needs to work on is super fixable. At times, he body hunted a ton finishing in traffic in the NBB, but this is common for 19 year old players competing against pros, looking to draw the foul on almost every occasion. He grew and can defend 1-4, with a 7'0 wingspan. He was as obvious a pick as they come to me. His shooting regression from 18 years to 19 years had everything to do with the coach subbing him out every time he missed a 3, which made him hesitate because he didn't want to come out of the game. Not what you want for player development, especially with a wing who can handle, operate in P&R, and defend.

So, Ilan Pietrus is a son of Florent Pietrus. Interesting, looks so not long ago Florent was a young athletic chicken himself.

Keegan needs to develop. No rookie can get away with their rookie year skillset.

The whole argument against Keegan is his limited ceiling due to his advanced game (relatively speaking). No one reasonably expects the 4-10 groups, from Ivey to Duren would realistically be better than Keegan on day 1. Though I do think the big 3 this year are all better than Keegan today period.

So in 3 years, will Mathurin, Ivey, Sharpe or Daniels be better than Keegan, if yes, Kings just Kangzed agained. If not because Keegan developed while the younger rookies developed, then the Kings was wise against the concensus.

Very well reasoned points. This is how we should strive to post rather than just trying to kick people out for saying things we don't agree with.

Keegan to me is still projecting as an elite 3rd option on a championship team ideally...yes tweener, can't put it on floor limits his upside still - but he's so versatile, and efficient....he is showing me such great balance on his 3 pointer , takes his time sets it up and then shoots - I don't ever see him being a bust like wesley johnson. There was valid concerns for the pick on tweener history. But watching him he shoots like robert horry and cuts around like doug christie.....has some aaron mckee offensively, i am really liking how he takes his time on his set shot and puts his but out like boris diaw to get balance....

Dude just has a knack and can shoot the ball

Super interesting prospect to me because he's not going to finish top 5 ceiling in draft I think when all is said and done but an efficient player who doesn't need the ball is definition of winning. Fitting his role as a tertiary option could be more valuable then someone like a banchero being a #1 on your team. He has more winning elements then banchero, defense, efficiency, he just can't create and that's kind of good in a way.

getting to see more of jovic he really does appear to have cement in his shoes does not move as well as he did on very limited european highlights on offense....had multiple air balls today because he isn't getting knee bend. His defense looks somewhat better then expected though and he does have ability to convert post mismatches. Bottom line I'm not seeing the dude go off with crazy ballhandling series and stepback footwork demonstrated on film - footspeed looking much more role player ish then star potential.

Keegan I still am not projecting all star but with way nba is these days with it being so easy to score dude could avg 20 and make 1 it wouldn't surprise me.

Keegan’s a smart guy. He’ll develop counters. They took away what he did the first game and he started turning it over.

I’m more worried about his foot speed on defense.

- Pippen Jr looks like he could be a backup guard on an NBA roster.
- Christie looks like a really great defender, didn't see him much at all in college. Has a beautiful looking shot, if that thing starts going down then Lakers may end up with one of the best 3+D guys from the draft.
- Swider has a beautiful shot and can probably have a role in the NBA as a shot-maker like Bertans but slightly better defender.

Think Lakers did well again from their one SRP and both two-ways

Says the guy who, just last offseason, was saying Cade Cunningham had character issues despite providing no evidence whatsoever...

Says the guy who, just a few days ago, was saying Tari Eason had character issues just based on a profile picture...

... and the list goes on.

If Chet is a defensive KD at the 5…

OKC is going to be fun to watch. Giddey will make it easy for Chet Dieng and JW
