Wether you agree or not this is a fact. It's prob why this is taking so long, if Bam was on the table I think this may have been already over & we get our whale.

Miami trades bam, herro, 2023 1st, 2025 picks, yurtseven, pick swaps

Miami gets Durant, Myles turner

Indy trades turner
Indy gets Ben simmons

Bkn trades Durant, simmons
Bkn gets: bam, herro, Robinson, yurtseven , picks

Turner
Durant
Jimmy
Strus/dipo
Lowry

Honestly with all due respect I disagree…Sure bam is great but if a true blue whale like Kevin Durant is available I am pretty sure no one is off the table except for Jimmy

And the more I think about it the reason a deal hasn’t happened is prob because Brooklyn is gauging value and the big issue of course is that Simmons and bam can’t be on the same team so if you find a solution to that it can be done

Also in this particular deal we find a way to get Myles turner who can def rim protect

I find it very odd that no other deals have been made by us which makes me thing something is up

The last time we were in this situation was 2018, Minnesota was dragging their feet in trade negotiations with Jimmy leading into training camp and Pat ended up addressing the team telling them he pulled the plug on talks. I dont think we’ll go down this road again, its really not fair to the guys that are here and wouldnt bode well for their play either.

Reposting my opinion on this odd situation with KD in Brooklyn.

If people don't remember the George situation in OKC let me remind you because I believe it's the NEARLY THE SAME SITUATION with KD. P.George wanted to go to LA but he also wanted to try to win in OKC, it's my belief he resigned in OKC to get a chance to win with Westbrook and that didn't happen so he asked out and OKC quietly sent PG to LAC for a nice haul, then Westbrook got moved, these 2 being traded was a complete surprise to all including all the other GMs who didn't know PG was available. KD wanted to try to win with Kyrie, he resigned for 4 more years and I believe got a verbal agreement that Brooklyn would send him where he wanted to go to, why? KD gets to try to win with Kyrie, gets security of a long term contract and can still pick his destination while Brooklyn gets more years with KD and some type of compensation if he leaves.

I have to believe it's a 2-team race for KD, possibly just one (Phoenix) and someone let out the info and here we are. Another belief of mine... I think KD's friendship with Lowry basically makes it a no-go for KD to Miami because Lowry will know KD had to ok the trade of Lowry from Miami.

At this point I think it would be smart to just ignore KD and try to get Mitchell and if not that, go get a PF.

I was just going to mention this. This is an absolute chemistry killer. Not sure what the hell Adam Borai is talking about saying this is a good thing for Miami. If nothing happens by the free agent moratorium ending we need move the hell on. Sometimes it’s better not to be named a suitor. Now if this drags on Riley will have to address or extend Herro to put out the flames.

I've followed this team long enough to know Riley's words are often double edged. What Riley was also saying is that Bam had to show he was more than a garbage man on offense. Yes Bam is valued, but he's not untouchable.

Not sure I can get on board with trading Bam in a package for KD.

KD will be 34yo this season. KD will likely maintain a relatively high level of play throughout his 4yr contract. But at that stage you'd be depending on 37yo Lowry, 33yo Butler and 34yo Durant to all be playing at the highest level come playoff time for us to have a chance and that likely still wouldn't be enough and that's only in year 1 of 4.

That's without mentioning what Bam could potentially bring to this organisation over the next 8yrs+ with the established relationships he has with top level guys across the league.

Bam for KD should be a non starter. Jimmy's window be damned.

They are not going to risk having a malcontent on the team, not after what they’ve went through the last 2 years

rebuilding assets is what i think they will end up gettin, sure they want stars, but will they get it? unlikely.

Their pick status makes this difficult. They
need to be okay for a few years, as they own none of their picks until 2028! Swaps on odd years & even years gone to Houston.

You can probably count on 1 hand the guys in the league Riley would trade Bam for

There's more than that. It would have to be for a franchise player/no 1 option preferably under 30

Doncic, Giannis, Embiid, Jokic, Curry, Morant - for sure
Tatum, Ingram, KD, Ant - I'd think for a couple mins but probably do it
Zion,AD, Trae, Booker, Mitchell, SGA - 50/50 I'd need to think about long and hard. Zion/AD is more injury related
