I think this is a fake and if so that is the 2nd fake trade posted. The mavs have no need for this guy his past is filled with lots of missed shots and he just cannot be trusted to take clutch shots at all.

A guy capable of 15 ppg, with playoff experience yet still in his twenties, on a 2 year vet min contract? It really doesn't get better than that. That's what makes me think it's a fake...

Probably it's a fake... But Schroeder for the min is a great pickup.

And they don't expect he will take clutch shoots for sure
Defense, ballhandling and instant offense. No more.

If there are no takers for Schroeder, then I can see Mavs taking a flier on him. He cant be worst than Trey freakin Burke. 2 year minimum deal, 2nd year player option so he can opt out and move wherever he likes. But as it stands, this news should be considered fake.

Trey was a better player than Schroeder he had a higher % from 3 and could put points on the board fast.

You can't be serious, Schroeder is 2/3 tier above Burke.

You said "better player" not "better shooter".

Schroeder is a significantly better player then Burke. That shouldn't even be up for debate.

The thing that worries me about him is his attitude and how it seems to wear on the teams he's on quickly. If he's really willing for the minimum, you do it though. There's no ball handler your gonna sign that's better then him at that price. Sign him as a stopgap and find an upgrade later.

This guy intrigues me a lot.
Not only as a backup but even possibly as a starter for a team that might bereft of a starting point guard.
Like I follow the bulls too and I wonder if a guy like this could help more offensively than say even a Lonzo ball .

As a backup I’d be even more happy . They hit dragic which I’m guessing is more valued right now then Denny but I’m not not so sure it’s the right move.

Admittedly scary thing is the celts did take off after trading him but rumor they were starting to turn it around before the deadline . Which is true. Their record was healthy enough over .500.

If I have a question mark at pointguard this guy is near top of my list .

Previously, I see Milwaukee, Miami and Detroit interested in Schroder. Quite obviously, Schroeder only gets veteran minimum. But which team gives Schroeder a long- term stay more than the Mavs. I should say none of the above.
