THT, Nunn for Hield. No picks.

G - Westbrook/Beverly (buy out?)
G - Hield/Walker IV
F - James/Reaves/Brown Jr.
F - Davis/JTA/Johnson
C - Jones/Whiteside?/Gabriel

lol why would Pacers do that for no picks.

Because Hield isn't in their long-term plans and THT is only 21 years old. Nunn is also a promising young player.

He’s a 6-4 combo guard that isn’t a good shooter. His 2 years left at 10 mill aren’t terrible but not great either. Nunn is coming off an injury and has 1 year left.

Buddy has more value then either do. Both on the court or as a trade piece with 2 years 20 then 18 mill. There are teams that would likely offer a first for him. He’d be a great fit for a lot of teams.

I think Harris and the $40+ million total more he'd cost over Curry is the sticking point for the Lakers, not the 2027 1st. The Nets are not getting anything else of value for Kyrie so putting top-5 protection on it would probably be good enough for both teams.

This is how it’s going:

Rob: We will give you WB / THT / 2027 first for Kyrie and Curry, that’s our best offer.

Sean: No Thanks… that’s garbage, we have better offers.

Sean to the rest of the league: Hey guys we need to find a trade for Kyrie….. I’m not dealing him to LA

Rest of the league literally: No Thanks, no interest, head case, nut case, quitter, hang up phone….

Sean: Well we got nothing… let’s pretend we have options so the Lakers drive up the price…

Sean to Rob: Can you do anything better?

Rob: WB / THT for Curry / Kyrie now….

Sean: But wait, now you took out the first?

Rob: We know you got nothing… you had your chance…

……… nothing for a few days…….

Sean: Fine we will do it

Brooklyn “holds out”, “no traction on a deal” “haven’t talked in days”

July 7th: Official deal: Kyrie / Curry for WB / THT

One of the annoying things about the NBA is having to suss out the motivations behind every insider tweat/leak in a way you don't have to for other sports. It is entirely possible that no Russ/Kyrie trade is going to happen and we all got way ahead of ourselves. But literally a week ago Shams broke the story about Kyrie opting in and specifically said he was "going to fulfill his commitment to KD and the Nets." On February 9th Woj was insisting that there had been no Harden-Simmons trade talks and on February 10th Simmons was traded for Harden. These guys aren't pressing their ears to the door of the GM's room to get scoops, they are being told what to say and when to say it. Again, maybe someone from the Lakers or Nets told Shams there's no traction because there isn't any. It seems just as likely that one of the parties told Shams to say this because they think it helps their end of the negotiation.

Hield has his warts but has at least one high level nba skill. THT and Nunn are scrubs.

One. One might argue that THT has potential, but at this time he is a scrub.

Always love the yearly "how can the league help the Lakers improve their team while not having jack to trade" thread. Or one of them at least. LOL

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Are Buddy Hield/Myles Turner still in trade rumors? If so,are there others teams trying to those players? If not, I think the Lakers should just try to trade Westbrook and a unprotected 2027 1st round for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner and just hope Beverley gets brought out at some point. The Pacers have more a reason to take Westbrick and future draft picks than the Nets and the Lakers would have a actual starting Center on the team. With that said however,I I'm very sure other teams would be able offer much better deals for both Hield and Turner.

lol Do Marks and Tsai seem like the guys to cave? Its already being reported that they have no intention of fulfilling any of Kyrie/KD desires unless its beneficial to the Nets. Also, we can debate on this but I think the sticking point is harris vs curry and that's such a Laker thing to worry about when you have Kyrie right in front of you.

It's hilarious that this keeps getting framed like this. You know there's 28 other teams in the league, right? Any one of them can make an offer for Kyrie today

His deal is just some fantasy that has no grounds in reality. If BKN can’t get assets for Kyrie they have no reason to trade him. WB is not an asset. THT is not an asset. Not even mentioning they could probably trade Curry for at least a 2nd.

Why would BKN trade Kyrie/Curry for WB/THT and no picks? So they can get worse players and have to pay more? It’s just idiotic.

The problem with THT, is he has very little value right now because of his PO after next year. If he sucks, its going to cost you $11 million in 23-24, if he plays well at all his declining the PO and they may lose him anyway.

I agree and an LA team should not have such stingy ownership.

Plus the Nets themselves don't have draft picks,so a full on rebuild is off the table for them, which make it even less of a reason to for Nets to even consider trading Kyrie for Westbrook than there already was. Sean Marks may have handed the Kyrie situation poorly, but he's not a idiot and will do what's in the best interest of the team. The only teams that MIGHT want anything to do Westbrook or TNT are the Hornets and maybe the Pacers and that's if unprotected picks come into play.
