If they did play - wouldn't KD, Kyrie and Simmons be one of the best reams? With Irving opting in I am surprised they wouldn't just go for it for 1 season and ask out next season. They must have some real issues with Tsai/Nets mgmt.

Our roster as of right now is loaded and this doesn't include use of the MLE.

Kyrie can go to hell for all i care, but KD had better report or he can retire.

Either we get the God Father offer or were telling KD and Kyrie they are coming back.

If they want to sit out they can. I don't see how it affects their value at all.

Phoenix and Miami deals are off the table.

I'm only trading with Tor/NO/Bos. Those are the only offers I see worth taking. And obviously Barnes must be included.

No interest in taking Mitchell if we have to trade Simmons.

Masai is not trading Barnes or even Pascal.. so Toronto is off the list. Don't believe bias American media who is coming up with these ridiculous rumors, Raptors aren't interested in trading Barnes... Only player I can see Masai trading Barnes for is Giannis.

Only way it happens if if the Lakers can reroute Westbrook. Otherwise he can choose to play or sit out the year. Maybe a buyout.

No shot Im taking back Westbrick.

The money doesn't work, the Nets would have to include another salary and I'm not trading away Harris, Seth, or any of the kids just to dump Kyrie. Kyrie can sit at home for all i care.

I defended both players when you were calling them out just wanted to say you were right and sadly I was wrong. :(

Plus worst case scenario the Nets should still have their pick next year, Rockets won't be better than the Nets. The swap won't happen so even if they suck the risk is worth it as they keep their pick.

Believe what you want but Raptors would absolutely trade Barnes and OG for KD. Nothing has happened because Nets believe they can get a monster haul.

Saw this on twitter but this is raptor fans right now

I don't think you have any clue what Masai would or wouldn't do. But thats fine.

Then you won't get Durant.

If Kyrie wanted out so bad he could have taken the MLE with LA.

He chose to come back to the Nets.

If he plays 60+ games this year and puts up a good season. I think he will easily get a 4 year deal from the Lakers.

If he chooses to sit out he won't ever see a max deal again.

So its simply up to him. I'm not doing him any favors by trading him for Westbrick. He tanked his own value. His fault.

Raptors fans remain delusional as always. Not even Danny Ainge would pass up Barnes for KD. Who the hell is Barnes, you gotta add in 3 picks before you can even put the guy in the same sentence as KD.

It's also worth mentioning that Barnes is uncommonly ugly. I watch basketball for the beauty of the game and not it's participants, but 82 game of looking at Barnes face would make me question my fandom.

Exactly this. Marks has all of the leverage. Both of them are under contract and neither of them will sit out or dog it. Durant won't because his time as an elite player is limited. Irving won't because he wants another big contract. It seems simple to me. Marks gets exactly what he wants for both of them, or they are forced to play. And either scenario is fine.

The Nets as constructed are a better team than Toronto so there's zero incentive to trade KD to them.

KD is going to have to cry himself to sleep, but his bitch ass will be staying here unless Toronto mortgages their entire future. If you're Masai, do you do that for a 34 year old Durant who is literally trying to run away from a team that has catered to his every wish?

COPY AND PASTE

I took a lot of heat in this forum over the past few years for insisting Kyrie was a cancer.

His behavior since day one, just not showing up whenever he didn't feel like it, was absolutely toxic. Forever finding reasons NOT TO PLAY, like he was the only guy in the NBA who had a social conscience, when PLENTY OF GUYS DO, BUT THEY STILL SHOWED UP TO PLAY, and I knew he was slowly tearing this team apart ... so NONE OF THIS surprises me.

Just like I wasn't surprised when James Harden was the first to refuse an extension and say get me the hell out of here.

I hate to say I told you so, but I've been saying it for years, Kyrie is the worst thing that ever happened to the Nets.

I even had that in my signature for most of Kyrie's tenure, from the moment he started his disappearing acts.

NONE OF THIS would be happening if it wasn't for Kyrie.

Heck, if he wasn't such a narcissist we would have won a championship with this team Marks put together.

Kyrie blew the whole thing to hell. Now you see why I never stopped blasting him, despite the heat I received.

Honestly at this point things seem pretty simple. Either Toronto puts something Brooklyn can't pass up like Barnes on the table or Phoenix finds something good enough in an Ayton S&T with a 3rd team.

I'm honestly not sure how Toronto passes up a starting lineup with FVV, Siakam, and KD. That's a big 3 that fits together really well and gives them 2-3 years of contention. And they'd still have some good depth with Porter, Prescious, Boucher, Thad.

I take what Scoop says with a grain of salt but he does seem to have legit Kyrie sources.

He claims Kyrie and KD made demands about rehiring assistant coaches and signing Melo like 2-3 days ago.

Allegedly, the team has had conversations with KD and Kyrie since and things have calmed down. If you can decipher Kyrie code the words he uses to describe it are "Everybody won" and "It was a stick up." He's talking now like KD + Kyrie want to stay.

This might be the Nets working with Kevin just to get more leverage for a trade. If teams think we're operating ready to go for one more season, they might stop holding back assets in a trade.

Or maybe KD + Kyrie actually had productive talks with the team and they actually prefer to stay. Or KD + Kyrie felt like they were losing power in the organization and successfully got Marks to back down. Maybe the KD trade demand with the negative PR and weak offers actually spooked Tsai.

Very confusing stuff.

If it's something like that, I can't help but admire the 'good cop/bad cop' leverage the Nets may have in this crazy situation.

Nash is presumably a 'good cop' figure that KI&KD will probably always enjoy working with. Tsai can afford to be the fed up / unreasonable owner for the purposes of this situation, and Marks maybe comes off as the logistics/manager guy who's caught between all parties, simply trying to make things work.

That only makes limited sense if you're dealing with reasonable people, but KD&KI are not. Point is-- maybe it's enough to get them back in to the team concept and being on board again. They can think of Tsai as the 'bad guy' here in order to dodge all responsibility for their past actions, and if that works, I guess it works. *shrug*
