Why'd he turn out to be garbage? He reported they were actively talking and it's in the preliminary stages. Since then Woj said they checked in again but no traction yet.

Ya i dont think Rob or Marks have anywhere else to turn. Details will be argued, filler will be argued but i see WB/1st for Kyrie/Harris, if Harris can pass a physical.

He said they were actively engaged. Since then Woj/Shams have both said there has been no traction, and Shams even said today that he's not sure if it'll even happen. If you read what Haynes had to say with the Joe Harris/Seth Curry stuff, you know it sounded like bs. The trade will probably happen but I'll be shocked if it goes down with those players added.levon wrote:DarkXaero wrote:Sorry that you believed him.Ballerhogger wrote:yup worthless source hope he gets black balled.

I have a feeling the Lakers rather trade for Kyrie after the Durant trade. The reason is if Durant goes to Golden State, the Lakers might as well give up and rebuild and trade Bron to Phoenix for Miles and Ayton and Davis to Bulls for Lavine

Re: [HAYNES] Nets and Lakers actively talking Russ/Kyrie trade…
Interesting thing here is that Ramona Shelburn and Jake Fischer both say that the Nets stance is that they don’t want Westbrook under any circumstance.
Ok but the Nets realize that if they don’t take Westbrook then there goes any chance at picking up draft compensation. Because no one is giving a first for Kyrie, so if the Lakers end up providing draft compensation to dump Westbrook in a 3 team deal, then that means the Nets get nothing or at least very little like Nunn or possibly THT.
The only way to get decent draft compensation back for the Nets is to take Westbrook and waive him. They will eventually figure this out, or at least come to terms with it.

Nets are not dying for that Lakers draft pick. Especially if it means we have to give up Joe Harris too. And take on Westbrick.
Lakers are 10x more desperate. Nets can easily just tell Kyrie to sit and move on.

Re: [HAYNES] Nets and Lakers actively talking Russ/Kyrie trade…
Westbrook is never going to play a game for the Nets, whether its him going to a third team or getting bought out. Westbrook's salary doesn't even match with Kyrie, so Nets would need to do more outgoing salary, unless they get a third team involved. And given the Nets' tax hell situation, I don't see them being willing to take Westbrook (adding salary and tax) for one first round pick.hoosierdaddy34 wrote:Interesting thing here is that Ramona Shelburn and Jake Fischer both say that the Nets stance is that they don’t want Westbrook under any circumstance.

I would look at Hornets as a potential 3rd team because they had previous interest in Westbrook, and with the Miles Bridges situation, they're now more in need of talent than before. They also have a bad contract of their own (Hayward) to make it work. As long as the Lakers are only offering one first for Kyrie, I would expect the Nets to hold on to Kyrie. I think the offer will need to be 2027 and 2029 firsts.

Lakers are doing the right thing by waiting them out. I absolutely would put whose more desperate to the test if I’m the Lakers. Especially when you have Kyrie who is going to kill the interest of every other team, if his antics haven’t already.

The Lakers need this trade more than the Nets, whose season is already ruined.

There will be another team that will swoop in and show interest in Irving. I follow the Lakers, but I completely understand the Nets waiting this out. There is only one team interested for now, but as time moves on, especially as the season ramps up, there will be other teams.
I can't say it enough that David Griffin should be calling Irving and Durant personally to sell them on the idea of running it back again with Zion Williamson. New Orleans has the chips to get a trade done, while still having a great team after.
The Lakers are playing with fire, acting like they're not that interested in taking the pretty girl to the prom, knowing she's the one they've been dreaming of marrying for years.

I might be wrong but I thought it was Magic who ran those trade talks and stupidly offered everything at the start of negotiations. Even though no other team was bidding for AD at the time.

lol why would Pacers do that for no picks.
Because Hield isn't in their long-term plans and THT is only 21 years old. Nunn is also a promising young player.

I think trading Kyrie to Minnesota for Russell is much better than the Lakers offer without the picks.

The Nets can keep Kyrie and try to win and keep him at the end of this year, and there should be other suitors
Sure they could... But last season went so well, and that's with a Kyrie that WANTED to be there... This season, he's probably not going to play at all if he doesn't get his extension and will do everything he can to be a pain in the ass...

Could depend on Durant. If you can get back 2 good players (not even all stars) and a haul of picks for Durant they’ll have effectively re-stocked their cupboard from the Harden trade. Those picks may not be high but at least it’s something. BKN then has:
-a moderately competitive team (with no reason to tank)
-re-stocked draft assets
BKN then acts as a middling team (maybe play-in level?) for the next few years and has draft picks
They signed KD and Kyrie for free. Whatever they can get out of them in a trade should be a bonus, it’s just that now KD is being used to re-coup the lost Harden assets. They’re basically resetting back to zero (plus Simmons but minus potential high first rd picks).
Does BKN want the best return for Kyrie? Sure. Is it the end of the world if they don’t get it? Maybe not depending on what KD gets them.
The question is can LAL lose another year of Lebron? I’d think another losing year puts tremendous pressure on Pelinka.
