I mean its just the first game of summer league, but the people who were doubting Chet sounded to me a tad bit like the people who doubted Luka. Its not a perfect analogy obviously, but the focus on body type led them to over look the uniqueness of talent.

Not sure what's the worst part of this post, agreeing after one SL game with the OP (without Banchero even playing) or implying that after a rookie season a guy that was consensus top 5 pick with a bad offensive year is also the wrong pick?

A 7'1'' dude that can go behind the back and pull up for three off the dribble, what a talent.

Also, teams always get criticized for bad picks. People still talk about pistons taking darko, kings taking bagley, grizzlies picking thabeet, blazers taking bowie ect... if Chet ends up being better the Magic will never hear the end of it, so may as well get used to it.

The really bizarre thing to me is that there's a legitimate case to be made that at least 4 guys taken after Banchero have more upside than him.

I mean very possible the magic are going to look dumb here. That said it was known Chet didnt want to go there and you could make a case for any of the bigs at 1. Chet was always the guy that if he hits his ceiling and you pass him you may look really dumb.
