The thunder had a choice. They could've drafted Trevion. They chose Jaylin williams to pair with Chet instead.
As far as other teams. he went undrafted so all the other teams could have taken him but they didn't. If he has a good summer league, I don't think it changes a whole lot. You can't put too much stock into summer league performances.
chances are, he isn't getting signed out of summer league. he would just get a training camp invite. maybe another team will offer a training camp invite instead of us, or maybe he'll come to training camp with us, who knows.
Meh. He's not "in house" if he's a UFA.
Well, sure if you want to take "in house" that literally.
BUT out of the 30 teams in the league, we're the team working with Trevion everyday. Coaching him, making tweaks in his game, building a relationship with him, building trust. He's in our facility every day. He's learning our plays, learning our system, building on and off court chemistry with the other guys on the team, getting acclimated to our team culture. We have an advantage when it comes to signing him, just like the Lakers have the advantage when trying to sign scotty pippen Jr.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Trevion can move that ball! I hope he gets a camp invite.

Franks was arguably the best all-around player in the NBL (australia pro league) this past season. When you look at his combination of shooting, passing, defense, rebounding and ability to handle the ball. At 6'8" with a 7'3" wingspan. Was one of the NBL's best defenders, averaged 18 PPG, shot 39% from 3 on 6 attempts per game.
25 yrs old so a guy just now entering the prime of his career, already past so much of that development stuff that a 19-23 yr old player has to go through.
1st half of the season highlights:
;t=6s
1:24 filthy move here, showing some bounce and wiggle off the dribble, then hits the step back jumper, shades of Jayson Tatum here
1:44 that 7'3" wingspan coming in handy on this rebound!
Highlights vs New Zealand Breakers:
-Had 31 pts this game
-We see him operate effectively, both as the PnR ball handler AND as the PnR roll man. Very rare to find a player with that type of versatility. For context, the only player off the top of my head who I can think of from the 2022 NBA Draft class who can do both effectively is Paolo Banchero and he was the #1 pick!
-We see Franks hitting 3's, some strong finishes inside, good steals on defense, really getting out on the break and pushing the pace, too
Highlights vs JackJumpers, the NBL's runner-up this year:
Don't be surprised if this guy makes the team. He can play the 3 or the 4. I would classify him as a "big wing". Really versatile player, effective on both ends of the floor..
One more video. Look at how good he is at attacking and finishing with either hand:

Australia's, National Basketball League (NBL) and the NBA have played, or planned to play, together a few times.

If memory serves me correctly, they were going to do a NBA Summer League, with some NBL teams included.
Maybe in 2016? -- But, it didn't come to fruition.
I always though that the Australian league, the NBL, was the most NBA-esque league?

Hal14, you are indefatigable, including chasing down all sorts of foreign league highlights and scouting reports — thank you. We should pay you by the hour!

I suppose you're right. The pessimist could say this is also technically a showcase opportunity for the player.

I think it's hilarious that Grant called approximately zero fouls, even when guys got hit on the arm or whatever.

Not sure. In some ways, it's the easiest to throw young American players into. My rationale on that is pretty simple;
1) English-speaking nation, english-speaking coaches, plenty of American cultural influences, etc. Sure, it's vastly different to downtown Ohio, but fitting in here culturally isn't too hard I would say.
2) Relatively speaking, it's a safe place, both in terms of general safety, and more specifically around the quality of training and playing facilities, and coaching.
3) There is a Next Stars program, which has worked well. Dieng, Giddey, LaMelo Ball, RJ Hampton...plenty of guys have been through it recently with good success. Ariel Hukporti and Rayan Rupert will hopefully be drafted in the next NBA draft and continue that success. The program is pretty different to the normal 'Grab an import, cut him if he sucks' rinse and repeat players face normally. Of course, young guys can sign as 'normal' imports too, and I'm pretty sure that was the path Hugo Besson took last season before getting drafted. In case you're interested, here are the basics;
Spoiler:
The league itself has pretty good coaching now. And it is a good quality, although I would say it's not at the highest level in terms of pure athletic ability. Could probably do with a few more pure shooters, too. On the plus side, there is a good mix of structured and free-lance ball, it's physical, and most of the teams actually play like teams (including imports).
The young kids who've been through the Next Stars program also get good opportunity to play, since it's league-controlled. Bury a kid on the bench, and you're hamstringing your clubs ability to get the next Next Star who arrives.
