Behind the scenes of the draft 2022

Really cool look at draft night. Weaver is so closed doors it was sweet to see inside.

Weaver played Sacramento and they knew it. The look on their faces man.

The Duren trade was crazy. I guess I should have known Arn Tellum had a hand in that, but for some reason I didn’t think he was a huge part of operations like that anymore.

Really cool.

Grant Hill should have brought his ass back to Detroit to help the Pistons win another title in 2008. That would have brought him full circle and lessened the bad taste in the mouths of Pistons fans who remembered him abandoning the city.

Instead he went to Phoenix and won jack/squat. Oh well.

Could have done without the Grant Hill hawking a book at the start, but really good behind the scenes.

I expect great things from this young group, starting this year. Gonna be a fun ass season people, get ready!

Enjoyed watching that.

Given Ivey's connection to Detroit what are the chances he just stays here the rest of his career regardless?

Dude's connections here are beyond anything I've seen in 20+ years following the league

I have no issues with grant hill. Without that sign and trade deal theres no going to work pistons championships. That deal brought ben wallace to detroit.

Well, Ben Wallace was coming to Detroit no matter what happened with Grant Hill, so no credit should be given to Hill there. In fact, Hill had to be talked into doing it as a sign-and-trade by Orlando management so that the Magic could maintain cap exceptions.

It all worked out for the Pistons, but there's a lot of revisionist history going on with Hill and his PR blitz around that book.
