If you could add one past Piston to this team
I'd go:
1. Grant Hill
2. Isiah Thomas
3. Rasheed Wallace

3. Rasheed Wallace

Sheed is the perfect fit with this squad. But he fits with basically any team. Elite skill set, can stretch the floor, great interior defender, and is a lob threat.

Re: If you could add one past Piston to this team
I mean, the natural way answer is to pick the best, right? Hill or Isiah add the most wins in terms of next years total, but neither gels all that well with what we’ve got- they need the ball to have an impact.
But in terms of fit with what we have to me it’s either Chauncey or Sheed. Chauncey is an off ball threat who can share ball handling load while Cade and Ivey develop (you can run a smaller lineup with Cade at the 3). I don’t think Sheed requires explanation. He fits with almost any team in the league, maybe any. He’s a guy I think would be even better in a modern setting.

Sheed would be perfect on this team!

Just to be different, Tayshaun Prince. Shot the 3 ball fairly well, would’ve taken more of them in the modern game. What he lacks in rebounding, he’d make up in defense at both forward positions.
I would honestly pick Sheed, I just wanted a different answer.

Obvious answer is Sheed. However, if they adjusted to the modern game, I'd rather have Bob McAdoo.

Sheed, hands down. He had more talent than anyone he'd replace in the current roster by far.

Prime Sheed was Jailblazer Sheed. Not sure he'd be the desired character fit.
Give me Grant Hill on this squad. He'd be the character fit, and could play the three with Bey at the four.
Cunningham
Ivey
Hill
Bey
Stewart/Duren

Jailblazers actually got a really bad rap for what they actually did (esp. Sheed and Stoudamire). Sheed was a Dean Smith student. He'd be fine character-wise.

Agreed 100%. Never had off the court issues and his teammates always liked him.

Didn't he whip a ball off a teammates dome?

I think you are confusing him with Kenyon Martin?
He once was suspended a game after he threw a small white towel at teammate Arvydas Sabonis; who flailed his arms trying to draw a foul and smacked Rasheed in the face (chipping his tooth). 2 weeks earlier Sabonis had given Sheed a black eye from another inadvertent hit.
Is that what you are referencing?

No - Invictus88 is right. A local Portland paper reported that Sheed whipped a ball at Reuben Boumtje-Boumtje while on Blazers and laughed about it with Bonzi Wells while Boumtje-Boumtje was on the ground in pain.

Re: If you could add one past Piston to this team
The best Pistons ever was Isiah Thomas, so you choose him.
Isiah/Cade, holy smokes.
You worry about team fit later.
Isiah
Ivey
Cade
Bey
Then you trade whatever you need to get a modern 5 that can shoot and play defense, catch lobs. That is a championship type team.
Or maybe Duren is like a modern Ben Wallace, who knows.
Isiah would be a nasty as **** co-leader with Cade.

Re: If you could add one past Piston to this team
Rasheed Wallace had the talent to be an all-time great, but he was an emotional trainwreck. He worked so well with the 04 team because of the strong personalities, and the fact they were all all-stars save for Prince.
I'm not sure he would work with this young, and inexperienced team.
I would go with Billups next to Cade.

Re: If you could add one past Piston to this team
Dantley would be a great help in maturing the team.
Laimbeer fills the greatest hole.
Bob Lanier would be the best big man in the NBA since 2004 Shaq.
Grant Hill is a young LBJ
Isiah Thomas: Well his worst day is Kyrie at his best.
