I loved watching Poku and Chet play together. It almost looked like CGI to see those toothpicks fly all over the place. Chet is like McHale (even though game is different) - never been anyone like him before and may never see it again. I hope Chet is just as good in the big league because he is really fun to watch. I think he will be because Poku looked the same as he does in real NBA and Chet looked like a superior talent.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Wasn't sure what to make of that guy but for sure he is rapidly looking really legit. Just seems to always produce wherever he goes.

I'm assuming him and Trevion will each play half the game. Hopefully they give both of them a chance to play with the starters..

Trevion is younger so potentially a better player long term to keep him and develop. But Kabengele could be the better player today and over the course of the next 2 yrs - so probably is the guy more likely to earn a spot and maybe even meaningful playing time as a backup big for us..

We'll see, but i think both of them have good potential..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Robert Franks is a scorer.

In his last season at Washington state, he averaged 21.6 PPG, while shooting 49% from the field, 40% on 3s and 85% from the line.
He led the Pac-12 is scoring that year.

He should be a player to watch in SL for the Celtics.

Franks worked out for the Cs three years ago.

He was 18ppg, 9rebs, 50% from the field and 39%3pt on 6 attempts a game last NBL season.
(40 min games, so pretty good numbers)

He's a good one. Whether he can make the leap, I dunno, but he's got a well rounded offensive game.

Trevion can move that ball! I hope he gets a camp invite.

I think it's hilarious that Grant called approximately zero fouls, even when guys got hit on the arm or whatever.

(That was Grant reffing, correct?)

He called one, I think the one on JD but was reluctant, I think someone said something to him that's why he made a big gesture way after the call. Grants not calling fouls, this is the NBA, suck it up!!

I saw about 5 fouls. That screen wasn't a foul IMO, just a shiver causer. Hehe I love it!

Agree, we need people like that, always coming through with these interesting facts and articles. Really helps my lazy butt and my penchant for crowning people who have never played an NBA (steaaaaaal).

I only watched 30% or so of the video. I did see one guy get hammered on his arm while he was driving, with no call.

Damn.. how slow are things right now.. we are talking about Grant Williams' ability to ref :o

I already admitted my addiction to Boston BB, but this is getting ridiculous.

To say I can't wait for the SL to start is beyond a understatement.

JD, In the Hauser, Trevion Williams and Begarin are all enough to give me my BB fix..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

and he's got a 7'3" wingspan. Pretty good for a wing :)

The other thing I like about Franks is that he seems to be really decisive with the ball. Just plays with a confidence. Even when he doesn't even have the ball. Just when he's running up and down the court, he just looks confident, like he knows what he'd doing out there - obviously we've had some guys who look too passive, lacking in confidence, like a deer in the headlights sometimes (Nesmith, langford, schroder, ojeleye, Fernando, even White sometimes..)

He can definitely play either the 3 or the 4. Not making a direct comparison obviously, but just from a positional standpoint, Franks is similar to like TJ Warren, Jayson Tatum, Carmelo Anthony, Jalen Johnson from the Hawks, Scottie Barnes, Shawn Marion, Ariza, Odom - guys who can play the 3 or the 4..

Obviously, we're getting closer and closer to true position-less basketball at this point anyways..

When I'm coaching, I'm never really thinking about positions these days. Occasionally gets me into trouble where I do something like run a half court trap on short notice and have the wrong mix of kids on court.
(Kids adjust quickly, but if 4 of them 'normally' play at the front of the press, even the smart ones get momentarily confused...which is obviously a coaching issue, and something I need to get better at)

But otherwise I'm basically looking at a unit in terms of 'Is there enough...?'

So, is there enough ball handling?
Is there enough ball pressure?
Is there enough rebounding?
Is there someone to guard that inside scorer?
Is there someone to give voice and leadership, etc?

And also 'Can I...'

Can I steal five minutes rest for my best player right now?
Can I sub out my big in foul trouble?
Can I run that new set we've been working on at training right now?

Positions never really cross my mind, for better or worse.

Mfiondu has done a good job evolving his game but he needs minutes. The G League did wonders for him.
