“Toxic” Jody Allen refuses to sell team
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Jody needs to go.

Re: “Toxic” Jody Allen refuses to sell team
I'm pretty skeptical of anything out of nypost, like that article is filled with such biased language one might be forgiven for thinking its a hit piece from Knights camp in response to Jody's comments the other day. I really hate "journalism" that tries so hard to convince the reader to take a position on an issue, especially when that issue is bickering between two obscenely wealthy people.
That said I also hate the limbo that our ownership is in right now. It does feel like a lack of passion from the top because it fell into her lap rather than was a project she went out of her way to take on and devote herself to, so the claims that she is letting Bert make major ownership decisions could 100% be true and would just be a huge shame.
I have no great love of Knight, or Nike and their corporate issues, but I do not doubt he would bring a renewed vigor and passion and clout to the team so I could think of much worse owners... like Jody.. and Vulcan.. So while absolutely hating everything about that article I find myself agreeing with much of it lol

I get that the post is considered a tabloid at this point but nothing in that article is really shocking and goes with the narrative we've seen witnessed the last 4 years.
I mean, I was a little shocked about the skimpy outfits and fashion shows but then again nothing billionaires do surprises me.

Had no idea she was involved in all this nonsense, but then again it’s the Post.

Yeah. A lot of words for rehashing what we already know. Well, except not answering Dame's call. That was new. But Jody being hands off and deferring to Kolde shouldn't surprise anyone. If she wasn't interested in the Blazers when Paul was still alive, why would she suddenly become a huge NBA fan now?

As I understand it, there is language in her brother's trust that mandates both the Blazers and Seahawks be sold. She will have to sell

That was my understanding as well but for now she has no reason to sell if the money is going to charity anyway. Especially if Bert is deciding on if he should keep his job or not.

Yup, it will eventually get sold but I am sure there is ancillary money and benefits to be had for many people before giving up the golden goose.

Re: “Toxic” Jody Allen refuses to sell team
That Dame post about being loyal to people that stopped being loyal to you a long time ago suddenly has greater context. I really can't believe Jody and neo just wasted this man's career. Just awful, scummy rich people totally disconnected from reality, scheming and scratching for every penny they can get without actually GAF about the sport or it's fans. At least that's how they come across to me, and I think a lot of people in general. That's not good. One thing that made Paul such a great owner was his genuine love for the team and game.

Every publication has to be viewed with skepticism and this one is no different. But hey, at least the NY Post got the laptop story correct. I personally think Knight is pretty much a best case scenario. Hope a deal happens - the soon the the better.

Re: “Toxic” Jody Allen refuses to sell team
you have to understand that there's NO loyalty in business( specially sports). would it be if it was, sure.
thats why trades happen all the time. there's usually no loyalty on both sides, it's all about $$$.
if all is somewhat true we will suck for a long time if that guy or her is going to be calling all the bball shots for the next 10-20 years.

From NY Post, only slightly better than National Inquirer and source reported ex-Blazer Prez (and current Nike employee) Larry Miller… yeahhh, no agendas here. Not saying it’s wrong, but definitely a biased article that should be looked at skeptical - especially considering the publication.
I want Jody to sell to Knight as bad as everyone, but I’ll wait til we hear it from a more trusted source first.

Oh I agree about the source but in a way it is all stuff we already knew.

Won't sell to uncle Phil. Not a fan of hers if any of these allegations are true, no wonder we lost an amazing team president of operations he made sense saying she should've taken uncle Phil's 2 billion offer

Paul had the power to fire Olshey if he was not happy with the direction of the team. He was alive for at least a portion of Dame's prime. Olshey could have done more to try to build a contender but if PA really wanted a more aggressive GM he could have easily found one.

Neo's nose was so far up Allen's ass he could've given him a colonoscopy. Let's not forget what a grade a bs artist he was either. Having said that I think he would've been fired after the pelicans sweep if he was still alive.

The article seems fairly well sourced, with most quotes coming from actual people, backed up by official records etc. Seems the Allen's have some kind of weird animal bone fetish?

I agree, the article felt like a hit piece. I don't think Jody is a great (or even good) owner, but this felt pretty absurd. Also, if Dame got snubbed by the owner like this, don't you think he would have said something? Not like he's shy about being direct and honest when he's frustrated with things.
