Tobias Harris or Harrison Barnes which is a better comp?

Temperament, he is Barnes (both from Iowa).

Game, he is more Tobias (entering the league today) mixed with some Danny Granger.

Not bad in terms of a prospect. Kinda down that he seems to be a mixed bag defensively. But maybe with time he'll refine that aspect. Was also kind of hoping he'd be able to play the 3/4 as opposed to 4/5. Don't like the idea of him checking 5s in the NBA.

He reminds me in some ways of Donyell Marshall or Chris Gatling.

Why? He has advanced bag for a big.

As a big who is facing up/crossing over like 1:20? Taking it coast to coast at :50? Moving without the ball at 1:36? He is scoring at all levels fairly effortlessly in SL. His bag is fairly advanced for a big and I'm not seeing modern comps, let alone comps with role players like those

I think his worst performance on the back to back night, when admittedly he was stuck in mud. But those shouldn't be played in SL after kids have the summer off and aren't used to them. Chet looked ridiculous on D last night

Clearly people don't remember or are too young to know about Donyell Marshall or Chris Gatling lol. It was not an insult to Keegan.

Donyell made 12 3s in a game!

I mean, Marshall was a 51.6% TS guy over his career, and Gatling never shot 3s. Hard to see that as a flattering or obvious comparison for Keegan.

As you can see his defense in the SL statistically has been fine, so far. He did get beat in that back to back game some, but you know how I feel about SL back to backs

I see Keegan more of a true big than those SF/PF. Meaning Keegan can actually rebound and protect the rim as a big, and beat down folks in the post offensively.

Both in the league a long time. Obviously different eras.

don't love making cross era comps anyway

as i said earlier in the thread, closest analog to me is late stage Melo, like 2016 Melo which was his last year as an all star, was still a strong scorer but still had issues defensively, with creation and limited positional versatility.

He's got more bounce than late stage Melo.

Harrison Barnes is a decent comp if we are talking defensively only. Offensively Keegan is so much more skilled and efficient. Barnes is not as natural of a scorer.

What about his defensive rating (96.8) block percentage (6.4) last year speaks to the fact he can't rim protect coming in? He's got high BBIQ all the way around
