If I am the league, I am colluding with BKN to make sure they don't deal Durant because this creates a total nightmare for the league management as a whole. If a players contract is only contract FOR THE PLAYER and is more of a guideline for the teams, player movement will become even more out of control.Yes I know I just agreed to my supermax, but I really just wanted to secure my paycheck and I am demanding to go to the Lakers, you can have all their draft pick (singular) remaining, and an amalgamation of the overpaid role players they have amassed for the past 3 years on MLE deals.
Byeeeeeee
I just posted about this on the general board. Contracts are a waste of time if players continue to simply ignore the terms they signed and demand trades whenever they want. If owners could decide in year 2 of a 4-year contract that they no longer desired to pay a player their agreed $40 million salary, there'd be a riot. Except, players are doing the same contract-busting move in reverse.
(I DEMAND a trade AND I demand it be to one of these 2 teams. Oh, and you can't ask for Player A, B, or C in the trade because I want them to be on my new team so I can go play with them)
Why bother signing contracts if players can simply void them whenever they want??
