JT ran that much?
One would think JB was our Usain Bolt.
That and his shoulders explain his piss-poor finals. KD and/or BB would certainly reduce his usage. Make it happen Brad.

Jrue, White, JB, JT, KP. Brad’s Masterpiece.

Cs in the bottom of distance travelled on the court and speed for both reg season and playoffs. Imagine if we asked JT to run around as Curry does and if we didn't have a switching defense that doesn't require players to move a ton.
JB has lesser load but I am more confident with him having enough in the tank physically at the end of games. Might be one of the most well-conditioned athletes in the league.
I think this past two years has been an extreme case, so I’m not overtly concerned about his conditioning going forward. That said, no downside to getting it even better lol. Nevermind the workload, Jaylen plays a lot less minutes than Tatum as well. I know injuries and all that, but Tatum has played over 1,000 more nba minutes than Jaylen since the bubble.
You’re correct about us moving less, but it still adds up. For a bigger guy, with his workload, this is insane.

Yep. Ime still needs to find a happy medium between maximizing Tatum and not overexerting him. Having KD and Beal will help a bit.
That number is up there more cos of his minutes than the Cs style of play, which could change if we want more offball movement.
I don’t want to clutter the other thread up, but I really think Durant gets dealt lol. I can’t see the Heat offering Bam/Herro, but damn KD/Butler is terrifying.

Players who averaged 20+ ppg and 6+ rpg in RS + PO while shooting 35%+ from three -- Bird, Melo, KAT, Jokic, KD, PG, Dirk, and JT.

JT is 24. He is going to get stronger and more skilled. He is going to be better this year barring injury. Look at the leap he made this year and imagine he only gets better by 10% as much as he did this year. That would still be terrifying to the rest of EC.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

This is an interesting read:

Tatum ranks 2nd in BONUS WINS behind Jokic among players no longer on a rookie contract.

https://www.truehoop.com/p/the-dollar-value-of-a-winning-nba
Players who can deliver wins at lower costs are generating Bonus Wins. Tatum contributed his 16 wins on a salary of $28.1 million. That comes to only $1.76 million per win—a bargain price that reflects a 48-percent discount on the league average! Think of it like this: The Celts only paid Tatum to deliver about eight wins ($28.1 million salary with wins costing an average of $3.35 million per win). Instead, he gave them a whopping 16. And Tatum’s high-value contract is a key reason the Celtics were able to create such a killer roster, with room under the salary cap to pay many other excellent players.

As much as the finals sucked, dude had an incredible season, and is as impactful as pretty much anyone.
Now get better.

I see a lot of dumb fans criticizing him for not being in the gym when he basically just had 20 straight months of playing hoops. He should relax this off-season. I know he will be ready by training camp

Looking at Curry, James and Durant barely overperform their salary is pretty fascinating. Sure they had some availability issues last season but by the time you get to a supermax contract you probably can't be relied on for 82 or even 75 games every year anyway. So you really need to be one of the best ever to provide value on a supermax deal. I guess what I'm saying is good luck with Beal's contract Washington.

This type of excess value calculus works in baseball but not so much in the NBA where you have a salary cap, max salaries, and 5 players on the court and a far greater specialization of roles/functions that synergize. If Beal can give you 10 wins at $40 mil., and Kuzma can give you 3 wins at $10 mil. (making up numbers here), that doesn't mean you can get 4 Kuzmas to get Beal's production. It is perfectly possible in baseball to be a top scoring team without having a single superior offensive player. You can't in basketball.

Yeah I mean this is a regular season analysis so it's a pretty flawed way to analyze max players to begin with because you should really pay those guys for what they deliver in the playoffs (unless of course you are the Wizards). However it's pretty interesting that regular season production from top guys lines up pretty well value wise with a supermax contract. No argument from me that in the playoff you are better off with a 16-win and three 0-win guys than four 4-win guys.

Love that.
If tatum can get better at those things he's even more unstoppable. Drew obviously saw that in the playoffs tatum had trouble on a lot of his drives - he had a lot of them where he should have taken a pull-up jumper instead of driving into a crowd or there wasn't necessarily a crowd there but he drove in and just wasn't as effective with the drive or shot attempt at the rim.
Drew knows what he's doing, obviously. I'm pumped to see tatum dominate next season!
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything
