So did we trade Evan for Brunson? I just got home and I need to know! It's important

All that expense for Jalen just so Cam Reddish can play?

Cam still won't get minutes! I just glossed over the page and thought I saw something about it. I am looking forward to getting interested/dare I say excited and then being completely let down in the end!

At this point, the hold up must be Dallas trying to get something out of the Jalen Brunson signing via a sign and trade, so there’s a negotiation over terms. Maybe it’s as simple as rescinding the threat of tampering charges in exchange for a TPE. Maybe it’s more involved with Cam Reddish going to Dallas for a future first round pick. It’s starting to get a bit interesting.

You guys crap on Evans too much when he's way more talented then RJ. The smart thing would be to send RJ to Mavs and destroy that franchise for good.

Evan is a decent player. He's not the future. Why bother? Are we contender level team? No. Not that I want to give him away as much as I do Randle but, I won't miss him if Grimes/Cam get to play in his absence.

RJ must owe him rent money for the space he occupies in Jimmit's head.

That was so funny when a lot of people wanted grimes to start and then he didn’t make a shot for like a week.

Again, we discussed this, including the numbers, days ago. A Brunson descending contact for 106/4 enables a Fournier s&t, whereas anything less doesn't.
Edit to clarify: under the assumptions that the Detroit trades go through and a Fournier s&t is simply a one player add on to Brunson to the Knicks and the Knicks-Detroit deals
So would this give the Knicks any way of...oh...say...signing Colin Sexton along with adding Brunson or give them any room under the cap to absorb another teams contract?

Still don't think this has been made official which leads us to believe Knicks have a few angles of how they want to maneuver the cap and want to see what options open up.
-S&T for Brunson (send back a big salary?)
-Trade for a star?
Both?
* I wouldn't give up on Mitchell yet as I think Ainge might be just angling for a big return for him.

With Mavs totally strapped I can't see how they would bite their nose to spite their face and not take Fournier or Rose...either player in the Mavs system is probably quite productive. Fournier might be their top 3 pt
Shooter.

I don't think the Knicks are that motivated to move Rose. Brunson has been a huge fan since he was a kid practicing with him. Thibs loves him. IQ not really a PG yet. If the Knicks are drinking their own kool-aid about "competing", and I believe they are, then they probably like Rose at backup PG.
Knicks won't mind burying Grimes or Cam on the bench, which would be the case even if Fournier is moved.
Not sure why the Knicks want to gift Fournier to the Mavs either, to be honest.
Maybe in some kind of half baked, kind of dumb idea that the Mavs remove protection on the 2023 pick, which they think would make it more attractive to Ainge/Jazz, even though the pick will be in the 20's no matter what, outside of Luka tearing an ACL

Think the Knicks are trying to work out a sign and trade so they can fit both Harrenstein and Sims into the full MLE, then give Brunson a descending deal. Dallas can get an exception with maybe some other pieces/assets moving around. It would benefit both but seems like some bad feelings so negotiations may be tough

Only if the money is used elsewhere. Or maybe to get Bullock back who was highly successful in Thibs system

Fournier is ok if he's coming off the bench.
If you're serious about being a good team, you can't have a traffic cone in the starting lineup unless he's dropping 25ppg on good efficiency.
He can play the Novak role ...or his overpriced contract can be dumped.

What could be holding up a sign and trade deal is one is being negotiated is Cuban not wanting to give anything up for being a part of it. He's mad at the Knicks FO so he doesn't want to give them anything and then if the Mavs are to take Fournier he wants to be paid to do it even though Evan fits their team and will score alot for them.
So, it could be that Cuban just doesn't want to give anything to the Knicks, not a second rounder or nothing.

If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

I've been saying for a while one of the keys with moving Burks is that Fournier could assume the Thibs super sub/ bench scoring option.
Grimes and Cam will still be pressed for playing time if DRose stays, because that bumps IQ to guard, which bumps out Grimes or Cam.
I think they keep Rose.
Rose and Fournier have value; I wouldn't give them away for nothing, though there is roster rationalization to letting either one or both go.
And I'm not going to overrate the youth too much; Fournier and Rose (when healthy) are decent. Fournier just ass on defense, as you point out.
