Listening to some podcast on FDLS, random thought, the jazz moving from new orleans created one of the worst placed team nicknames. If it was the Saints moving from New Orleans, it would've been one of the best coincidental team nickname

Just CGI/de-age them. /greenfont

Was watching this last night and made a comment like ‘these use to be cute kids, now they all look like awkward 20 year olds’. The one older brother literally looks early to mid 30s. They haven’t aged well on that cast.

LOL those are two great points.

Lakers make a lot more sense in Minnesota than LA.

If I become obscenely rich, Im going to buy the Texans and move them and keep the name. Cleveland Texans is gonna mess people up.

Jurassic Dominion or whatever it is called had such an identity crisis. Couldn’t decide between a Jurassic movie, Jason Bourne or Indiana Jones but they were like just put them all in the blender and we will just CGI our way around it.

I understand you buy a puppy and it grows in to a dog. I get that when you make a show with adolescents and teens they grow up. Covid wrecked production timelines, etc. I get it. But you are correct, the Stranger Things cast is now SO MUCH older than the parts they are playing that it is distracting. Jonathan looks 35. Dustin, Luke, Mike, etc look early to mid 20s (they are supposed to be freshmen). The earlier seasons were much more engaging and childlike because they did not have this very constant distraction reminding us we were watching actors. Im willing to overlook this kind of thing without strain when its not so egregious.

The reality is they should have wrapped Stranger Things up in like 3 seasons. But I'm also not niave and understand they want to squeeze as much out of a hit show as they can.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

It was great.
Honestly was a lil disappointed. It was OK. But that might just be that the entire season was so damn good its possible the expectations were raised to high but ill.let it marinate a while

3 things though
Spoiler:
They did Black Noir dirty. I get they didn't want to do his comic storyline but it just seemed like there wasn't a real payoff

They shouldve killed Maev. It would've matched her comic arc enough to stay true but different enough that it wouldn't of been a copy n paste. Really it came off mostly as not having the balls to do it by the show runners.

Not a fan how they seem to be telegraphing a A-Train redemption.

(I do prefer that they continue to tow the line with Butcher as the anti hero versus him being pretty much a villan in his own right like he is in the source material)

Thor-Love and Thunder

It was a worthy contribution and the first interesting thing Marvel has done since, well probably the last Thor movie.

Ragnarok, in my opinion is pound for pound the best Marvel film so this had a lot to live up to. (ETA: the bridge sequence is the best single scene in any marvel movie). It was not as well paced, or funny as the first one. Way more heart and pulled back on the reigns a bit from a typical Waititi film.

My main criticism was bringing Portman back. She’s not a particularly good actress and she was trying haaarrrd to fit in with the new direction of the franchise. Almost distractingly so. She doesn’t fit the more humorous take on the character. It’s a shame they went in a different direction with Valkyrie. Tessa Thompson and Hemsworth have amazing on screen chemistry. Not so much with Portman.

Bale was in the upper tier of Marvel villains. Granted, it’s not a very high bar to clear but he was unique and his chops as an actor stood out in a pretty underwritten character. He was not menacing or intimidating, but he had a Killmonger thing going where you sympathized with him.

Bummed that Goldblum’s scenes got cut. He was such a standout in Ragnarok.

It gets really emphasized when they keep, doing these cutback scenes from the first season. Also think they could have done a much more modest wardrobe with EL if they wanted to hide the fact she is more woman than girl now

I haven’t seen the new Thor yet but I think everything you said is spot on with Ragnorok. And I’m really skeptical of Portman in the role I understand it to be given how great Valkyrie was, she was perfectly written, perfectly cast and perfectly executed in that role. So will be a bummer if she has taken a step back

I loved Thor: Ragnorok. L&T was 90% jokes aimed at 15 year olds and terrible Monty Python. Bale was good as Garr though, and deserved a way better and much more serious movie. HUGE waste. Nearly everyone is bringing up the tone of the movie being way off/confusing/all over the place, and you cannot overstate that.

Watching game of thrones for the first time in years. Pablo Pascal as Prince Oberyn could have carried his own series. Fantastically interesting character.

Boys finale was great. I like the show quite a bit, but it's just super depressing.

I can't believe marvel/dc churn these movies out and people eat them up. If my kids are interested I'll go I in the future , but holy cash grabs with all these super hero movies. Between that and all the crappy star wars stuff, I'm genuinely shocked people keep giving them money.
