I am saying he should initiate the offense. Would you rather Hayes?
Those are horrible assist to turnover numbers for a rookie PG and especially for a #1 overall pick.
?
do you have the stats to back this up?

It isn't even notably bad either. 2 to 1 is ideal, but considering the development curve and what he had around him, it is fairly good.

Just go ahead and admit you’re a box score watcher

It's a dose of reality for people that have viewed him as a special basketball player. His three pointer needs work too.

Like the other man said, go ahead and admit it. Glanced over your posts, you’re a hater on all the young prospects pretending like youre an nba analyst but in reality u just check box scores

All? I was saying that Ivey was worthy of being the #1 overall pick perhaps even as far back as 2021. You call me an "analyst" because I critique "all the young prospects." Critiquing isn't hating. Cade was supposed to be special...

Jesus, why has it gotten to the point that everyone is a hater if they critique a young guys game? This is toxic and it needs to stop.

Oh please you turned an Ivey thread into a Cade thread with your hating. Look at your other posts yourself as a refresher on other team’s players

This is a Jaden Ivey thread and here he is making ridiculous statements on taking the ball out of Cunninghams hands. Yes that’s hating and especially considering all his other posts

Except that he actually backed it up with stats. Cade isn't going to be a Luka type heliotropic guy, nor should he be. He'd be better used doing the Tatum/Brown your turn/my turn thing with Ivey.

Ah yea post his numbers post all star break. Of course don’t think I don’t remember your ridiculous posts early last year in summer league.
One hater to another going off on a player who is just entering his second year in a Jaden Ivey thread.

Re: Jaden Ivey
I don't understand all this on-ball/off-ball focus with Ivey. He's a player who can create on the ball and play off the ball. He did both effectively on a team with a clogged up paint in college. He's neither a PG to run your offense, nor someone you want off the ball all the time. He's a CG who creates for himself and others on the ball, and will find ways to contribute off the ball. That's it.

Only a complete homer would balk at a Tatum/Brown comp.

Re: Jaden Ivey
Except Cade doesn’t play anything like Tatum or Brown, which you’d know if you watched him. He’s not that kind of athlete and creates his separation in a completely different way.
A much closer comp is SGA, although SGA is again more athletic, mostly quicker. Cade is live dribble body control with long arms. He’s likely going to become more of a guard-on-guard bully as he fills out, because he has really good feel for creating space with footwork (inside and out) and using his shoulders to get free.
How good will he be? I don’t know, really. Somewhere between solid all-star and first team All-NBA. But his style really is different than anyone else in the league. Just watch him.

Not that I think it matters but I was bored and interested in seeing the numbers so I went back to 2011 for a list of 20 guards that were taken top 6 and got the ATO numbers.
Lonzo Ball (2.76)
Markelle Fultz (2.51)
Ben Simmons (2.38)
Marcus Smart (2.31)
Ja Morant (2.22)
Damian Lillard (2.19)
Lamelo Ball (2.16)
Trae Young (2.12)
Kris Dunn (2.11)
De'Aaron Fox (1.85)
Luka Doncic (1.74)
Kyrie Irving (1.72)
Dante Exum (1.68)
Cade Cunningham (1.52)
Darius Garland (1.52)
Bradley Beal (1.52)
Dion Waiters (1.51)
Jalen Suggs (1.46)
D'Angelo Russell (1.36)
Victor Oladipo (1.28)
The top 4 was kinda surprising to me. I used Fultz first full season btw so wasn't technically his "rookie" year but those first two partial seasons had a really high ATO as well.
Edit: Didn't include Jalen Green but he came in at 1.30 for his rookie year.
