Yea gonna go with a big no on this one.

I’m looking at the guards in the east and there’s absolutely no chance he gets in.

Dejounte, Trae, Lamelo, Garland, Lavine, Harden, Kyrie, Haliburton, Cade, Jaylen, Beal.

I mean I guess FVV made it so there’s a small chance

Outside of Julius Randle who does he think he'll have a chance to be better than?

He'll put up EC all star pg production. After that it's a popularity contest and how the season goes.

What do you think a realistic box line is for Brunson this season

The only ones that matter are the “locks” one can always beat out a non lock based on season performance, health etc

Yea anything can happen. I’m rooting for Kevin Knox To be an all star this year after 90% of the league gets injured

Well, he is right, he has a better chance in the East. Luka, Morant, Booker and Trae are pretty much the 4 locks for the future. Edward is probably the 5th. For the next few years, you add Curry (and Lillard). Way more locks short and long term as of right now.

I personally think that it should be most deserving and not 12 in each conference. It's stupid to tell a guy he didn't make the all-star team and the reason is geography.

Very funny, I almost died from laughter. Brunson put up 16/4/5 as a second option. If he scales up his production with a higher role and things fall right, at least he has a chance, and the main point is that this chance is at least better in the East. Or did we just quickly forget that Van Vleet just made the team?

In the West he has Curry, Morant, Luka, Booker, Lillard will be back, Murray will be back, Mitchell, Edwards, numbers wise Fox is there, and if we’re including players on terrible teams, SGA is there too, but guys on terrible teams who aren’t mega stars don’t have a chance, so no point including them. Even old CP3 is still competition for All-Star spots.

I doubt it because he played with Luka last season and Luka had no help. Therefore he sucks

Mavs system was perfect for his style of play, Knicks play differently. Sure he has a chance but it will be hard. There are still Randle and RJ on the team who will also want some touches and they also like to have ball in their hands.

There are the same number of all star caliber guards in each conference.

Knicks are probably gonna be fighting for the play in spot this season so he would have to have such a crazy outlier raw box start to the season I can’t see it.

Playing with Luka allowed Brunson to operate much more freely and he surely won’t have that luxury in NY. I think this is a much worse situation for him stylistically and while his raw box may improve he will probably be less efficient while doing it.

He’s going to find out it’s a lot harder to score efficiently when you don’t have shooters all over the floor.

I doubt the Knicks will be good enough to send two allstars, so he has to outproduce RJ Barrett, who sees himself anyway as the franchise player and has the same ambitions. Then you have Randle pretty much one year away from All NBA and being the guy in NY. Sure he will take another step back do let RJ AND Brunson do their thing and turn into a great offball Player. Ah and pretty sure trigger happy Quickley wants to play himself into the S5 and a nice extension.

So Luka was too ball dominant for Brunson to reach allstar considerations. Good luck with that beside RJ, Randle and Quickley.

Being the 2nd guy on a contender makes it much easier, see guys like Middleton

Well there’s certainly enough New Yorkers that should be able to help vote him in.

I think he definitely does. The West is a bit tight with Curry, Lillard, CP3, Morant, Booker, Mitchell, and maybe guys like Fox, SGA, Wall — depending on records. Last year, Darius Garland and Fred VanVleet were all stars in the east, with FVV not exactly having the most impressive stat line either.

I wouldn’t take an all star appearance off the table for this upcoming season for Brunson. Per 36 last year, he was 18/4.5/5.5 on 50/37/84 splits. With a graduated role and another year of progressing/improving naturally, I don’t see why he wouldn’t match or exceed those numbers (and be right around that level of efficiency). He’s not coming to the best team in terms of talent, but he has a good HC, and some guys to work with — a lot of whom were on that PO team in 2021.

If he puts up the numbers and have the Knicks playing winning basketball, he could make it the team.
