Jordan poole next off season target?

With his connection to Michigan and golden states cap situation could jordan poole be the target next offseason?

Seems unlikely with us already having Cade and Ivey in the backcourt. Unless Weaver ends up feeling Ivey is better suited as a combo guard off the bench, I think we're likely set with starting guard play.

I don't see how he fits unless he is fine as a 6th man? Rather the Pistons stock up on 3+D forwards.

Why would anyone, let alone Troy Weaver, think that Ivey (someone with potential of becoming a big star in the league) would be better suited as a combo guard off the bench?

I'm sure Weaver is hoping Ivey is a star in this league. Jordan Poole isn't signing here to come off the bench if he leaves Golden State its to be a main guy somewhere else. Poole doesn't fit unless Ivey isn't starting. I'm sure Ivey will be starting.

This.

If Poole leaves it is to start. Full stop.

It would be a small ball type of roster but it could work.

Guards
Ivey
Poole
Cade

Forwards
Cade
Bey
Livers
Stew

Center
Duren
Bagley

Ivey and Poole would be your starting guards. Cade would slide over to guard when one of these 2 hit the bench. I actually like it. Provides better spacing.

That's 8 roster spots for your core, fill out the roster with situational players.

Hayes would pretty much be your situatinoal defensive sub at guard if needed.

Olynyk stretch 4

Add a couple more 3&D types, and let the team grow.

I ain't mad at it at all.

PG: Ivey - 34 / Cade - 14
SG: Poole - 34 / Cade - 14
SF: Cade - 6 / Bey - 30 / Livers - 12
PF: Bey - 4 / Livers - 22 / Stew - 22
CE: Duren - 24 / Bagley - 24

Had the Pistons drafted Murray and Duren it would be worth considering. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense.

If we’re going to hand out a max contract next off-season, it’s going to be to a wing. That seems pretty clear with our talent distribution.

Poole is going for money. If we offered him the max, hes a Piston.

Thats probably not the best use of our resources, but he could be a Piston if that is what we wanted.

Doesn’t need to be a max, just saying, if it is…

We could use another good not great player on the wing if the price is right. Or, if Stewart plays the four successfully, Bagley improves, Livers shows out, and Bey isn’t a turnstile, we’re fairly set there, too.

We have a LOT of young talent. Just remains to be seen how many are decent, how many are good, and how many are great.

Where does Wiggins play?

At SF we have Bey, Livers, Diallo all needing playing time this season.

The Pistons #1 need is a star PF that can do it all and guard Giannis, Tatum, Paul George, etc.

Agree that FA is slim pickings next year, but we can still use our cap space to facilitate a trade and get a good wing out of that. Maybe even at this year's trade deadline. Bey, Olynyk, Burks, Noel (filler), in some combination might net us a good player with a larger contract that someone might want to get out from under. I'd love to tap Weaver's phone and see what kind of trade talks he gets.

Do it all and guard star players? That’s like no one though. I guess Giannis could. Good luck with that.

Forgot to add Hayes to that group

What if Ingram doesn't get along when Zion gets back. $31M per, would probably have to throw in a draft pick or two, but that would be nice. He's just 25.

Micheal Porter Jr is obviously a big risk, but I'd think he's pretty available.

Duncan Robinson is available, but isn't really athletic enough to play good enough D. He's certainly available, especially if just absorbing his deal.

I’d have interest in Ingram.

MPJ is a walking disaster of a contract.

Duncan is a 4th guard paid like a starter.

Am I the only one who thinks our cap flexibility goes straight to rookie extensions? I really think our roster is pretty much set

Then the plan is clearly not to compete for a championship in the next 5 years if that's how that asset is going to be managed.
