Wasn't a big fan of banchero initially but the kid is winning me over. The magic made the right selection with him at #1. They got nice core of young talent in the same timeline to develop chemistry.

That montage seems a tad bit misleading.
You'd think Jabari shot the ball decently while Chet was a defensive monster.

Truth is both guys shot poorly but both were dominant on the defensive end with Holmgren completely locking the paint for stretches and Smith doing most of his outstanding defensive work on Chet man-to-man.

Chet shot 3-10fg and 0-1 3pt but had 8 rebounds, 2 steals , and 4 blocks
Jabari went 5-19fg and 2-9 3pt adding 9 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks

'Exposed' is not the word you're looking for. A mock draft is supposed to guess how the draft is going to go, and the press/media was repeatedly told that Smith was the pick. That's what everyone thought because that's what the team picking #1 wanted everyone to think.

And OKC was always linked to Holmgren, which was proved right.

A 7'1'' dude that can go behind the back and pull up for three off the dribble, what a talent.

Also, teams always get criticized for bad picks. People still talk about pistons taking darko, kings taking bagley, grizzlies picking thabeet, blazers taking bowie ect... if Chet ends up being better the Magic will never hear the end of it, so may as well get used to it.

The really bizarre thing to me is that there's a legitimate case to be made that at least 4 guys taken after Banchero have more upside than him.

That's possible for any player in the draft.

A few teams might regret not taking Mathurin.
