Clippers have their very own Westbrook. How nice. Bigs that can play only drop coverage are going to love playing in LA,

Who thought confidence was an issue with Wall?

John about to hit a Wall when the season starts. He hasn't played an NBA game in forever and ain't the same Wall we know in his wizard days.

John Wall has never been a good scorer in the NBA. This is not likely going to change with the Clippers. The confidence is nice, though it does seem to lack awareness of the fact that there is a root of size going into who guards who. And they'll care less about him because he's been a trash scorer every year of his career even when he was younger and healthier. It's been since 2017 that he had a healthy season, too, so I don't think anyone is even expecting that out of him, and he's going to be 31, still with no reliable range beyond 10 feet, still mediocre from the foul line...

No one cares if he's still confident, does he still have most of the speed he used to or drastically improve his jumper, that's all that will matter.

No idiot, you will be wide open on almost all possessions. There are plenty who need attention on defence w/o you

He's had a rough time the last few years, his mom died, his grandma died, all the injuries. I think he's just happy to be playing again and relishing the chance. Hope he does well.

"My last three years, I was in the darkest place I have ever been," said Wall.

"Losing my mom, losing my grandma, tearing my Achilles'," Wall explained.

"Going through all that adversity and just trying to find myself and then getting some of that love more than anything taken away from me," Wall added.

So much more to that article, but people just want to pick on one thing.

I know a lot of people ask me, are you mad if you start or not start? I don’t care,” Wall said. “I’m a competitor and I just want an opportunity to go out there and compete for a spot. And if I get it, I get it. And if I don’t, we know how talented Reggie Jackson is and what he’s done for this team and helping these guys out, especially when Kawhi and PG was out. Even when they were there, he’s a great piece. Whoever gets the spot is great. We all just come here with one goal and trying to win a championship.”

The last season he played, 20-21 for HOU, was pretty mediocre. He's not a guy anymore, just a role player.

No one is afraid of John Wall. He is almost westbrick level in terms of scoring ability at this point. At least he can pass though.

Bold of him to think the 3rd best defender would even get assigned to him lmao.

To answer the thread title question of “How good will the Clippers be?”

I know this probably sounds like a broken record but I believe it comes down to Kawis health.

Actually his confidence is his main problem. He thinks that he’s still a star. He will demand star minutes and take star shots. The results on the other hand won’t be that of a star.

he averaged over 20 points a game and 7 assists- true, on a bad team, but he showed that he still has athleticism and ability.

Also, the Clippers are likely not expecting him to play 35 minutes a game. Even if he starts, he will split time with Jackson. He brings an element they were missing- a guy who is quick enough to push the pace, penetrate the lane, and make good passes when he breaks down the defense. Why are people so critical of this move? It's not like anybody is claiming they acquired Steph Curry or Morant.

Who is the better player? 2016 John Wall, 2016 Kawhi Leonard or 2016 Paul George?

It’s crazy to think that Wall could become the leader of this team if he somehow regains his former glory.
