I was looking at the Pacers pages on the website Sportrac this morning and came across a section that gives information on contract guarantee deadlines and amounts.
According to their info we have a couple player contract decision deadlines coming up soon. The decision date for whether to guarantee both/either of these contracts for 2023 is July 15,2022 so time is close at hand.
Nik Stauskas 2,193,920
Duane Washington 1,563,518
So my question to all of you is this. If it were up to you, would you pick up the guarantees on either of these players, or let them go? Aside from your own opinion, what do you think the team will actually do?
To me, neither of these amounts is very high, so it would become more a matter of roster spots, and whether we can find anyone better. My own thoughts are to let Stauskas go, and only retain Washington if no better option is available. That better option may or may not already be on the team.

I don't know if this takes the trade into account but his contract had to be partially guaranteed already as only guaranteed dollars count in salary matching.

I’m guessing Stauskas, Morgan, and Fitts are going to be moved as trade filler if we sign and trade for Ayton and especially if somehow Phoenix trades for Durant. Not sure if it’s possible to incorporate all these things but seems like they could.

Yes, I knew that. What I don't know is whether Sportrac's number is before or after the 87k

Spotrac lists the cap number on the left. If you look a couple columns to the right, you’ll see “Cash Remaining”, or total salary remaining in the lifetime of the deal. Under that, it says “Guaranteed”, where each player has seen the $87k removed.
