Is it too hot of a take to say that Tari Eason projects out better than Jabari?

Post#1 » by jasonxxx102 » Tue Jul 12, 2022 12:42 am

I’ve been extremely impressed with how fluid Eason is. Nice handle, puts the ball on the floor very well, high energy defender, nice looking shot from the corner.

Maybe it’s just a terrible summer league hot take but I think Tari looks like he projects out to be the better player.

The real question is: how long before Tari is starting over Tate

Tari is several years older than Jabari.

Would you have said that before the Summer League? If the answer is no, then it's a hot take based off watching the Summer League.

Yes. Very much a hot take... but I had Tari at #7 on my big board so I'm not surprised by how well he's doing. That said, it's still summer league.

I wouldn’t project him over Jabari at this point but his offense is a real surprise. Jabari is going to be a defensive beast, I mean he already is. He needs time to get his handle but his shot is pure.

Eason looks amazing, not gonna lie. I don't watch college at all and I thought he was a 4, this guy is clearly a 3, which is a bit of a game changer. Seems to be able to grab 18/8 just effortlessly.

Smith has looked pretty good to, if I am being honest.

We are extremely fortunate to have both.

Jabari had a more impressive game today than Eason did IMO. Why? Because what we saw from Jabari is exactly what he projects to be. Great shooter, great defense, 19/9 on good efficiency. I know that that is what we can expect from Jabari on a consistent basis. With Eason, it’s less certain that he will hit threes like he did tonight.

If Eason has the IQ to translate to real NBA games you guys got the perfect forward duo to compliment Sengun in the same draft. Getting Green/Eason/Smith/Sengun in two drafts is such a freaking haul, even if Green was maybe drafted a couple slots too high.

Hou's future looks VERY bright at the moment. I like Smith a lot, especially next to Sengun moving forward. Green looks like he has real potential as well. Bulls' fans REALLY wanted Eason to drop to us at 18. Plus, Washington is a solid prospect at PG-plus they have young bench pieces and tons of cap space/picks coming up.
I would deal/cut Porter though-just to play it safe and send a message to the other kids

All those Nets picks lookin' real nice right now lol.

I remember when they made the trade and everyone trashed them because all those picks were going to be in the late 20s and I pointed out that they control the Nets picks for a long time and Harden had already given up staying in shape, Kyrie was a nutcase, and Durant was old and coming off achilles tear, so that situation could implode at any minute, and its looking like its working out about as good as it possibly could for the Rockets.

If Houston's front office keeps making good moves they are in such a fantastic position long term.

Either way they are on the same team. Good for the Rockets. I thought they drafted well and probably had the best draft along with the Piston. TyTy will be a Maxey-like player for them too.

I have no idea why Eason wasn't a top 10 pick. I almost sent a letter to Mitch Kupchak begging him to take Eason at 13 becuase I thought he was going to be special. Then Eason had a strong workout with the Hornets and said they've been in contact, its a good fit, so I thought we'd do it. Then we traded the 13 pick for nothing. I hate my life.

Two years in a row Hornets draft blunders have been blessings for the Rockets. Thats why I jokingly posted that they should just trade LaMelo to them for KPJ and a bunch of 2nds lol.
