Re: Around the NBA XI
I come in peace. A Piston fan, yes there are some.
What do Lakers fans honestly expect this season?
I get the free agent signings in the sense that they needed to get younger, but it really looks like they just picked random names that played the positions they were looking to fill.

That's usually what you get when you give out minimum level contracts for a single season. I just don't get what they are aiming for with the 2023 cap space plan.

My personal, overly negative theory is, they know the league is going to announce the expansion team in Vegas next summer and LeBron/Klutch is going to try to get in as owners/player. So they want as much cap flexibility as possible to build around AD and Kyrie or whoever the hell is still here... And they're sending a message to LeBron in the meantime...

We don’t have picks to move and there are no worthy free agents available either plus half the league figures to have max cap space or close to it. I think our best chance to acquire talent is to make the MLE count in longer term deals and aggregate those salaries in trades or flip them for picks.

All I know is that Luka Doncic needs to be our next big play. Seems like that kid was born to play LA. So I'm kinda done building around Lebron/AD because I think it's an exercise in futility. We should stop sending out assets and start collecting them instead, to try and make a trade in Luka's year 7. We should also start the tampering and wooing process ASAP.

Luka is the perfect Dallas/M. Cuban player... As much as I would love him to become available, I'm pretty sure Mark would sell the team before letting him go anywhere, and I'm pretty sure the rest of the league would come together to ensure he doesn't go to the lakers in Free Agence... So unless he becomes a full, UFA, and unless we have as much cap space as anyone to sign him outright, it's probably not happening.

This donut looking mother **** THT went and embarassed himself in Drew League, shooting 12% from 3 and 38% from the field. Now teams are going to ask us for a 2051 unprotected 1st to take him.

Remember when Rob paid him 3/$31m with a PO but wouldn't offer Caruso more than 2/$14m?

To be fair, he looked the part and only aspect of his game that was lagging was 3 point shooting. He straight up regressed, which comes with the territory of investing in youth.
If Klutch knew he was trash, they’d have pushed for something like a 5 year deal in lesser per year money.

He hadn't shown much at all.. in fact Vogel refused to play him in the playoffs before he got paid, even as one of the only 2-way guys the Lakers had.
He just didn't deserve that money.. deserved $30m/4 with a TO at the most

Former Los Angeles Lakers player Slava Medvedenko auctions NBA title rings for native Ukraine

"We want to restore gyms because the Russian army bombed more than a hundred schools," he told The Associated Press by phone on Sunday. "Our country, they need a lot of money to fix the schools. Sports gyms are going to be last in the line to fix it. In Ukraine, we have winter and kids need to play inside."
The auction runs from Wednesday through Aug. 5. The Laguna Niguel, California-based company estimates both rings will raise at least $100,000.
Medvedenko said he decided to sell the rings after going to the roof of one of the tallest buildings in his Kyiv neighborhood and watching rockets launched by Russian forces streak through the night sky.
"In this moment I just decided, 'Why do I need these rings if they're just sitting in my safe?'" Medvedenko said. "I just recognize I can die. After that, I just say I have to sell them to show people leadership, to help my Ukrainian people to live better, to help kids."
Medvedenko has served in Ukraine's territorial defense forces during the war.
"We were defending our neighborhood, doing checkpoints and duty patrol. I'm not the best solider, I'm not the best shooter, but I can give them support," he said, adding that he carried an AK-47. "I shoot it a couple times, not at people. I'm happy I don't have a chance to shoot somebody. Our army did a great job to defend Kyiv. I want to thank them."

I think MJs statement says it best, he was a true pioneer who laid the road for every era that came after him.

This reeks of recency bias. Kemba Walker? Nah...Larry Johnson man.
Clippers should also be "David Stern at the draft Podium"

If Westbrook end up being with us next season and it some how works out ...
None of you are allowed to cheer for him/Lakers next year
At least 90% of you who don't want Westbrook and hate him LOL
