Currently? I'm thinking Adams. Dude has one of the coolest personalities in the game today, but he's also built like a ogre.

Historically? Shaq or Malone. People tend to underestimate just how friggn' strong Karl was.

Said in reference to Utah's trade assets in a potential Doncic deal.

I'd be inclined to put some money on Anunoby. Dude is a ripped tree trunk of torso and legs.

Pekovic all day. That's a strong man right there.

It's never going to be a tall person, squatting is about leverages as much as it is about strength. They're just too tall, the femur and tibia are too long, the range of motion is going to limit their poundages

Apparently Semi Ojeyele's workouts in Boston were "legendary". They never acutally said how much he would lift, but the guy is built like a tank.

It’s definitely some massive guard that has trouble sticking around the league because he’s too big.

Exactly, NBA players prob don't squat that much relative to the world of barbell training. Even the shorter NBA guys are still either tall or lean or both compared to normal people.

Out of current players, I'll go with Chris Clemons. He's 5'9, 180 lbs with a 44 inch vertical.

I think Steph is probably the guy with the single biggest improvement in his squat.

I think I'm going with Lu Dort among active, reasonably recognizable players.

I'm totally new in this. I don't understand why people mention small guys, it's obvious bigger guys like Mbenga, Pekovic, Shaq or Wilt, will lift more right? Unless it's proportional to your weight , why mention Lowry, CP3 or Nate?

Also, why are people mentioning vertical jump as a factor?

range of motion, let's say you're squatting 200kg. if im 7'7 and i have to squat to same depth as someone 5'7, that's 2 extra feet(not really) of distance that i have to travel with 200kg on my back that's a much harder lift.

This post makes me a little sad because due to SI joint issues from golf I can only do wall squats with no weight smh.

Yup, different sports emphasize different athletic traits. American football is apex explosive strength/speed. It is quite poor for endurance relative to soccer hand eye coordination/muscle memory isn't nearly as important as tennis.

Basketball players really aren't built for squatting

Idk who it would be but it's prob a thicker SG or a shorter SF. Ballhandlers typically aren't that thick and wouldn't likely be it. I'd also wager it's not a good, well known player lol. Like a young Jae Crowder or Semi is a good choice as well like above.

have you tried running the ATG program?

I have beaten myself up from 20 years of rugby and then onto recreational powerlifting, he's got me feeling good as new
