Need to find a 3rd and 4th team for Lowry and Duncan that brings assets that Brooklyn wants. The baseline right now is Herro and 3 first 3 swaps. As of today Saric, Bridges, Johnson, and Crowder or Shamet with 3/4 1st beats our baseline offer.

From what it looks like we will need to give an asset to rid ourselves of the disaster that is Duncan.

Lowry isn’t on that level of negative asset, but I don’t think he brings assets back as much as a similarly bad contract.

A decision about the direction of this franchise needs to be made already. Whether that's trading Bam for KD to give Jimmy and the Heat the best opportunity to win now. Or going in the direction of a mini rebuild and moving forward with Bam/Herro as part of the long-term core and getting big assets for Jimmy. Staying put should not be an option anymore

Honestly it's kinda strange that Brooklyn is apparently still working with us with Bam supposedly off the table rather than taking Phoenix's offer which beats anything we could offer that doesn't include Yimmy or Bam. Makes me wonder if Miami is really KD's #1 preferred destination

a lot of smoke with this KD situation.

Woj out there saying we're the most determined team is no joke. This is now very public and Riley & Co being this determined is a great sign. Miami can get it done because of the Bam trump card and I think they would eventually put Bam on the table if it came down to it and keep assets like Herro, etc, but let's see if they are able to pull off some magic and get it done without Bam. Would be a Riley fleece for the ages.

No team is more determined/desperate to get a KD deal done than the Heat.

We've mentioned this before....the Suns would feel much better "running it back" next season than the Heat would.

Teams like the Raptors, Pelicans, Celtics aren't desperate enough to blow up their young cores for an aging oft-injured KD.

The Heat may be the only team.

Who thought he would get Shaq without giving up Wade?

Am I tripping, or why does Toronto refuse to give up Scottie Barnes? This isn't Rudy Gobert... it's Kevin Durant lol.

Ujiri is a tough negotiator as well. Why offer Barnes if some combination of OG/FVV/Achuiwa and others is the best offer?

For the same reason we don’t want to trade Bam.

He is a franchise cornerstone that you want to play with the player you acquire. If you are giving up firsts until 2029 or so you want to compete, and you need the players around the big acquisition to do that.

I hear you, and who knows -- maybe like Riley was with Wade -- Masai knows something with Scottie. He was pretty special for them last year, plus I doubt KD wants to play in Toronto which would make it harder for them to give up more pieces imo.

This might be a hot take, but I think if Ben Simmons wasn't on the Nets, Bam and Herro would already be traded for KD. Riley wants that one last ring before he finally calls it quits.

What would it take to get KD and Ben on our roster? Would that mean giving up Bam? I don't know the contract situation.

KD and Ben is like 75mil in contract so yeah Bam and Lowry would most certainly be gone in that scenario.

Aw damn. Nah. I'll only take Ben if we can somehow keep Bam. Salivating at that defensive potential...

I think the best option would be to send bam and herro to a 3rd team so Simmons doesn’t have to be involved and getting kd and a center back

Bam could probably fetch 3 1sts which could be re routed to Brooklyn.

Maybe we can get KD & Turner from Indiana in a multi-team deal.

He's was a 20 year old 2-way 6'9'' rookie who just scored 15+ ppg on average efficiency (fixed, I had 21+ before). He's already a +5 in ORTG-DRTG which is well on his way to being a high-level impact player for Toronto for a long time. He makes some great defensive reads.

Regardless of what happens with the Durant pursuit, you know that second option is never happening unless Butler himself demands a trade, so it’s zero point to even suggest it lol.
