Yeah, you guys are reading way too much into that quote from Andy Elisburg lol. He's not going to come out and say they are working on trades. The most secretive organization in the NBA isn't going to have their GM tip anything publicly. It's just a company line that doesn't give you any intel.

Vincent
Strus
Butler
Durant
Simmons

Would also be pretty sick, no lie. Big if's with anything Ben related, but at his best, he's a very good baller despite what Twitter and talking heads on ESPN will say.

Cant have Ben as a C though, he is a big guard or wing player. Its interesting to entertain the thought he would succeed here but the guy has issues. So does Kyrie.

You know Spo would run him at the 5 though. It'd be inevitable.

Could also see us going for washed guys like Boogie Cousins or LMA as spot starting 5's if our C depth gets reamed.

It's an interesting lineup. We'd legitimately have a point center on offense. Vincent isnt a great creator but can play off ball and most importantly, guard point guards. Main issue would be guarding big guys and rebounding.

Rebounding is already a problem for us. We'd atleast be getting bigger. Simmons is 6'11 and 240lbs. Bam 6'9 and 255lbs. Bam obviously better at defending true bigs, but who knows, Ben hasn't really been given that opportunity given he's played his whole career with Embiid.

And depending on a guy to play a season of center—handling the bulk of big man duties on the court at all times—who has legitimately sat out a season and forefieted pay for 2 reasons:

(1) a major back injury that will be chronic and he has not proven himself to be fully back from; and

(2) having a tantrum bc the team would not play him in exactly the way he demanded—which was entirely not as a center handling big man duties.

That does not sound like a big man that is ready to help a team make it to a championship

And now we’re adding size to Ben to pump up this lunacy.

Ben Simmons listed combine measurements are 6’8.25” without shoes (6’9.25” with shoes) with a 6’11 wingspan. Bam outsizes him on all fronts

TBF I didn't delve that deeply. I went to Basketball Reference and that's what they had them listed at, respectively.

KD or Mitchell. Both have Heat as top 2. What an exciting time to be alive.

Did we pivot to Simmons? I was getting tired of KD courting anyway.
