Aren't BBALL and Reed the same guy?

Bassey! That's the bloke. Love me some of him!

That's exactly my thinking. Sign him and if the young guys beat him out so be it. A cheap insurance policy. Going back to Monroe the Sixers always get gashed when Enbiid isn't on the floor.

Joel's backup is arguably the most important backup in the nba. being able to keep joel at 31-33 minutes max and letting him take games off without feeling the temptation to play him big minutes makes a big deal. He also cant play over 40 minutes in the playoffs and his teams have gotten blown out at historic levels when hes not in games. Whiteside might be a good choice since he can start games and not have them alter their playstyle too heavily.

They should just go for Cody Zeller, he's way better.

Drummond is 28. Still in his prime and the least injury prone of those 4 above so likely will be in the league for many more years.

Enbiid needs serious load managment so he can make it through the playoffs.

Seems like they are going to roll with what they have at center. Paul Reed was pretty solid in the playoffs, particularly given the circumstance. Bassey has some potential as a shot blocking rim runner. And Tucker is an option if they want to go small and spread the floor.

They've also got 16 on the roster at the moment, so I'd think they'd have to like anyone they brought in on a minimum quite a bit.
Doc will have no choice.

He would be a solid backup. I don’t trust Bassey and Reed/Embiid should have minute restrictions on BTB games. I would get him if possible.

Embiid played some of the highest minutes of his career and played the most games this season, so that ol injury baggage people like to throw around doesn't really work here.

Wait why would Reed need rest? He's very young and has hardly any miles on his body. He'll not play more than 12-14 mpg anyways.

Drummond was the best backup Embiid has had in his career so far, they should go after him if they can.

I mean his serviceable at least. Better than DeAndre Jordan last year.

Dang that sucks, he played really well for you guys before being traded. Who else can fill the spot realistically?

The hope is that Paul Reed (BBall Paul) can. His advanced stats are through he roof, and he performed well in the playoffs. He is still a little raw, but he has what it takes for 15-16 minutes of bench time to cover fro Embiid. Doc likes traditional centers, but because they can't space the floor they are ineffective. We'll see, my hope is Reed grows into the roll, and at worst, if he doesn't pan out we can get a veteran center at the trade deadline.
