Pelicans must offer him a one year tender at league minimum or a two way-contract by October 15.

Regardless, he cannot become a free agent until one year after the draft unless he is signed to a two way contract and gets cut mid-season. (If he refuses either option above, he sits out of the NBA for one year).

But he lost cash playing these games. I assume he could have gotten more than 1m/year.

Sucks, Im a huge fan of his. I do think he couldve cracked the rotation this year, but doesnt really effect the Pels this year. Zion and Nance can handle all the minutes at the 4. Hopefully he comes back strong next year.

I hope he's able to sue. He clearly injured his knee in the first quarter. No doubt about it. Then they sent him back out there and since he had so little stability he hurt that same knee again. It's medical negligence. I feel bad for the kid. This could be a career ender. Yes players come back from injuries all the time but those are players who had contracts and jobs. He will need to rehab then try to make another roster and will have to compete with a whole draft's (2023) worth of new players for a job on top of all the guys from 2022 who will develop over the next year. What a shame. Pelicans medical staff did him dirty.

Man there should be some sort of workers compensation getting hurt on the job. I understand hes not under contract but it still feels like someone getting hurt while at work.

Problem with Chet and Jabari is they rely on the two man game a lot to get their looks. While the defense can just switch and I dont think both can score efficiently (well atleast for now) against a smaller but more physical NBA wing. Its the same issue Porzingis had his entire career.

While I dont think that would be the case with Banchero.

Going to be interesting watching Chet play against Queeta. Queeta is a big man and it will interesting to see Chet deals with him.

If he is offered a two way then gets cut immediately; Pelicans can actually get away with not paying him.

But in that case I am pretty sure some team will claim him as UFA to a multiple year minimum deal.

The top 5 picks have all showed out big time. Generally there's one or two that have an eh SL overall.

I don't think mathurin is really on a lower tier than alot of these guys. I'd say top 6.

Kuminga hasn't impressed me much at all. If you just looked at points you'd be impressed. But he's been awful and flashed a bunch of what I didn't like from him. He's been an awful rebounder, taking ill advised shots, missing FT's and just bad decision making with the ball. But then he'll flash the athleticism and have you thinking "well, maybe".

I'm still rolling with the Jeff Green or Corey Maggette comps.

Looking at the box score Duren needs to get more than 3 rebounds for someone his age/size, that's boarder line pathetic. But I like the efficiency and two assists (especially in SL).
