At this point, Hardaway is still far superior to Hardy. Let's not forget, Hardaway has got the nose to start games in this league as a Knicks and Hawks. Beat Hardaway first.

Lawson looks like a keeper. His game is tailor-made for the Mavs with his off ball movement and shooting. Plus he has size and defends. Hope the Mavs at least sign him to a 2 way deal. Can't have too many wings.

Absolutely, perfect kid behind Bullock and DFS.
He can learn a lot with them.

Horrible game, he forced a lot and his ballhandling is suspected.
No defense and too many fouls.
Raw talent, far away NBA level.

Re: SUMMER LEAGUE THREAD
Well, that dtart of the game were atrocious for both teams. Were like 0-0 after3 mins. That kinda seemed to sit on first half. 2nd half all changed and it looked like everything went in or/and noone played defense. 2nd half did look better. Must have been like 50 turnovers in total.
This is the issue with SL. Guys know they need to show off to have a chance at a spot. Their agents tell them too. Whrn whats intresting really is if they can play a role. First half were zero ballmovement, just iso. Why did they even try to get to the rim when u got 7.5 tacko fall there just blocking **** is not understandable to me. There is coaches, atleast they got to see and understand the situation? But no, just keep driving.
So technically i blame the coaches as much as the players. They need to tell the players what to do and what to not do. Game were almost painful to watch.
Not sure about that last call from refs. First the guy takes way too long to throw the ball in, then clock is started when he throw it in and touches a player that is missed, which get cheched. Then get a jumpball with any players in midcourt. However, and im no expert, but why were 0.9 sec removed from shotclock? I mean, if they review it and clock were started too early, imo shouldnt they just have to restart from the throw in? Anyway, no chance in a jumpball with 0.5 sec left vs tacko. With 1.4 sec it would have been possible.

Hardy joined a contending team and not a rebuilding team. He will play a very different role with the Mavs as compared to the Ignite or the Summer league team. He will play off ball a lot with the Mavs and he for sure won't take 20 shots a night. Lets see how he adjusts.

Yeah, it would be nice if they could develop him in a similar way as DFS.
Seems like he is a similar player with a natural shot.
I like what I'm seeing so far from him.

And that's his biggest problem. He was never in situation like this, playing efficiently with limited touches and very limited playing time is in most cases for players like Hardy too difficult task.

We wont know that until preseason starts tho. Might fit him perfectly. Not sure why people thinks he is a pg tho. Even in scout reports in hs it says sg, and it does fit his skills better

Problem is that he never in his life played like true sg, especially not like sg in the end of the bench. And there're really not many minutes available for him as Sg in Mavs.

Re: SUMMER LEAGUE THREAD
For the 3rd game in a row, the team just can't run an efficient offense. I like Hardy but if he's gonna be an important playmaker for us, we're gonna have some serious problems. He's no where near ready for that kind of responsibility.

Reality check has came very quick. I don't like Dorsey, but he's light years better than Hardy.

Re: SUMMER LEAGUE THREAD
Nico being the GM needs to balance both sides. On one side you need to be able to compete, on the other side of the roster you need to start a youth development program. You cant go in with a goal of winning it all every year. You need to compete in windows IMO. It's not realistic to say you will try to win 10 rings in 10 years.
Now Hardy is 19, just turned 20 last week. I think he will be okay. Considering they got him in the 2nd round. If they used a top 10 pick on him, that's another story.

Yes of course, but here someone talked about Hardy and Bingham will outplay THJ and McGee this year.
That's pretty unrealistic.

Re: SUMMER LEAGUE THREAD
Hardy might have played the worst game I have ever seen, but I still see him as someone who can become a micro-oven. Super aggressive. He just needs to be in the proper position. He should probably spend time in the g-league.
