Just keep that in mind when getting your hopes up here.

Brunson and Mitchell would be a very small backcourt with both being around 6'1''.

So would Lowry and Mitchell lol

Lowry is very likely gone in that scenario and if not he’s actively being dangled for a PF upgrade

The reason that size matters is because of their ability to defend the post since bigger players will take them there, Lowry actually is good for his size defending in the post.

So? And so would Lowry and Mitchell. Knicks FO have been starving for a headliner talent, I don’t think they care about that bro, or else they wouldn’t have even signed Brunson for 100+ million in the first place. If Thibs couldn’t figure that out, they’ll fire him and get a coach who could.

We could actually trade for Mitchell without giving up Lowry; Duncan, Herro and Yert

Picks from Knicks would also be more enticing for Ainge. You know the Knicks would always find ways to not make the playoffs every year.

Lowry is a good low post defender for his size. Didn't know people wouldn't understand that the reason size is an issue is being put into the post on defense.

Maybe we want that Mitchell for Knicks picks deal to go through? Utah ends up with more picks than they can ever use so they trade a few of them to us for Herro, we reroute the picks to Brooklyn as part of a Durant deal

And they also have more younger pieces, Quickly, Toppin, Reddish + multiple FRPs

Theoretically could. Just as likely, if not moreso, that Lowry is included.

If he’s not, I promise the trade exploration isn’t over as we would still seemingly have a PF gap to fill—enter Lowry.

I also promise that the Knicks have no intent to seek to trade Brunson right now.

C’mon guys, let’s get past the low hanging fruit and actually do critical assessment

I bet we can find someone who would want Herro for 2 FRPs, we don’t need Ainge

Who’s not to say we give Herro to the Knicks for two FRPs and they give those picks to the Nets to help us get KD hahahaha

Not worried about the Knicks, if they get Mitchell good for them. We’re getting him when FA hits anyways. We just need to be the first team to make a move, get either KD or Mitchell before the other is moved. I think that keeps the asking price down with the teams knowing we can just pivot to the other guy if we don’t like their demands

Mitchell to NYK
Snek to PHX
Myrie to LAL
Millsap to RET

Let’s do this.

You might be onto something we could help knicks get Mitchel and in turn they help us get Durant. Utah gets the slew of picks plus Herro and Brooklyn sheds salary plus gets their picks.

I have a hard time seeing Bkn do that, to me it sounds like they want a top level young player back for Durant, maybe they want Mitchell for themselves

Return to Miami Heat
