Re: Official Manchester United FC Thread
3-3-4
Sancho, Rashford, Antony
Fernandes, De Jong, Erickson
Shaw, Varane, Maguire, Timber
Might be a slow summer but getting Erickson for free, along with Timber, De Jong and Antony, is an ok start.
Might be a fun group to watch but defiantly not contenders. Ten Hag has some work cut out for him.

Timber isn't going to United. He'll stay with Ajax because he doesn't want to ruin his chances for the WC squad.
Ajax is asking 80M for Anthony, they don't want to sell him and I can't see United spending that kind of money on him.
They are most likely signing Malacia as leftback tho.

Yeah since I last posted, a lot has changed.
Sign Erickson, De Jong, Denfries, Malacia,
Then a Forward and CB. Dream would be Bellingham and Matthjis De Ligt.

Only a manu fan could believe that. The problem is attitude and organisation at ManU, not Harry Maguire.

Of course I was joking. But Maguire being the "symbol" says a lot about the moment that this team that used to be the biggest in the world, is going through.
Maguire is a clear example of a player who should have never played for manchester united.

Fair enough. I think there are many better examples and you could start with Pogba but we all have our own opinions.

I think it's partly because of the captaincy being immediately thrust upon him. That's a responsibility no new player should bear right as they come through the door, especially considering how many more suitable candidates they had at the club. De Gea is usually the one who talks to the press after the games and takes the difficult questions, Maguire's nowhere to be seen.
While it's still probably one of the worst signings of all time, in cost to production terms, he isn't as bad of a player as we've seen at United. He's mentally shot.

Personally I think Maguire is worse than Pogba. Pogba it’s mostly media driven but with Maguire he’s actually done stuff to make him not likeable.
The incident in Greece is a big one for me and the fact that he lied about the situation and got later found out. Then him liking stuff about Ronaldo leaving is not what you want from a captain.

I think most of us can agree they're both a pair of knobheads.

Oh definitely the pair of them is the epitome of Uniteds last few years. Pogba has always been suited to the Italian league and it’s a shame really I thought he had the world at his feet.

Re: Official Manchester United FC Thread
So not officially done yet, but Lisandro Martinez looks close. Does Ten Hag play him as a CDM? Would we end up playing with three CBs or is he part of the CB rotation?
I know we're losing a bunch of CBs so depth and talent is needed, just wonder how he might end up being deployed.

Maguire is dangerous during corners and free kicks, but he is not good CB, I don't get why is he still starting? Everyone seem to think hes terrible, and I agree, but he keeps starting for Manchester AND England.

With the large choice of CBs at both Manchester and England, I think the fact that Maguire starts for both shows that he is far from terrible in the eyes of professionals.

Funny thing is we scored like 2 goals from set pieces last year.

Well, it's just preseason and I've only seen highlights but winning games and scoring lots of goals is positive. Nice to see Martial bagging some too. If some of the under performing dudes, like him, can get their **** together that would be nice.
