I'd have to disagree. Basketball is a lot of math and that's why analytics exists. Brunson is worth 16 pts on the offensive side and you have to add the extra 30 he gives up on the other end.

And i have to disagree with Brunson, KP > Wood, Dinwiddie because you have to quantify it with Brunson at 27M for the next 4 years and KP at $31M for the next 3 years is and will not be better than Dinwiddie at 18M which expires in 2024 and Wood at another 18M which expires next summer. Both can be flipped and combined with talent for future trades as running a basketball team does not end in one summer, hence we cant judge it at face value. Brunson at 100M and KP at a full max, you will have a harder time moving. Considering those two guys will have Rick Brunson and Janis Porzingis attached to them wherever they go.

Tell me how would have 16 points of Wood helped Mavs in last December. How would have 16 points of Wood helped in games Luka didn't play? How would have 16 points of Wood helped in first 3 games of Jazz series?

I was 1 of the few who liked KP trade, because I believed Dinwiddie and Bertans can help Mavs more. Looking at roster's construction Kidd has no intention to do much with Bertans, so he's basically dead weight now. Dinwiddie without Brunson has less value, because he will be now asked to do too much, I can't see him being efficient in this bigger role.

Wood price is known, late first. And Dinwiddie is become unmovable, because Mavs haven't ball handlers.

If Gobert's 170 mio contract was moved for a lot, than Brunson's 100 mio could be moved too.

Nico said in his interview that Luka is very much involved and consulted in every offseason move they make. So if Luka checked off on it, and the fans are the ones panicking that the earth is falling, then I'll go with Luka. He seems to be fine while the fans are pulling their hair for not getting Dragic. Relax. Mavs will be fine. Fans are just overanalayzing things they have no control of. At the end of the day, it's Kidd and Nico holding the cards. We're just here for the ride.

I don't care what Nico said, the Luka inteview was so clear for me... He expects other moves, better Nico will make something.

Scary words by Luka... I think he is not so happy on Brunson and Dragic managements.

We're all casual observers and only point of this boards is to express your opinion. There's no right or wrong, it's just debating.

My biggest problem with Mavs isn't results, but construction of the team. Hard cap team and outside of Luka there's almost 0 potential for something more. No one good and young. No one interesting for trading. No one with realistic big room for improvement.

We have Luka, Din, THJ, Bullock, DFS and that is 5 guys to use at the 1 through 3 so one more would be nice.

Looks to me like we cannot count on one of Green Hardy Pinson or Ntilikina developing and maybe you can throw Dorsey and Lawson into the mix of developmental options.

It is possible that we get one to harvest out of that crop but that will take a lot of supplying them with time on the court to evaluate them and we are win now.

I am sure there will be a move made to acquire that 6th man to play and make us 2 deep 1 through 3. The perfect option may be a PG with size enough to play the wing as well as the point.

If Lawson can continue to shoot well from distance he solves the SF situation when we play Bullock at the 2 and or DFS at the 4 but he is not going to be a ball handler or combo guard and Hardy is going to need time to develop into that guy and his size is definitely wing capable on offense but on defense he is going to have to toughen up.

Rumor I see now is that Clarkson in UTAH may be a target the mavs have their eye on.

Nico: Hey Luka how's it going?
Nico: Just wanted to tell you we traded for Wood, we plan to sign 2 rookies, great off season so far!
Luka: Great i love it. How is Dragic?
Nico: He's old! Oh and btw, we lost Brunson for nothing. He-he-he. It happens.
Luka: WHA???
Nico: Enjoy vacations! Talk soon!

The Thunder have more than 15 players and some will get waived. Any interest in these guys? I think Darius Bazley could be interesting as a backup to DFS. Vit Krejci seems interesting in that he's like a 6'8" Austin Reaves, probably needs time to develop in the G-League though.

Darius Bazley $4,264,629 / rFA
Ty Jerome $4,220,057 / rFA
Theo Maledon, $1,900,000 /$1,930,681 (TO)
JaMychal Green $8,200,000 / UFA
Derrick Favors $10,183,800 / UFA
Vit Krejci $1,563,518 / $1,836,096 (non guaranteed)

Ultimate best fit alongside Luka. With the duo, then you only need to fill the roster with 3D player and combo guards.

You need a lottery pick for that probably.

You'll need more than a lottery pick, you're gonna need the #1 pick. :P

The Mavs is looking at Shabazz Muhammad. Given the track record of Minny. Perhaps it is a right move. Looks more explosive and skilled than Hardaway. Can't be very wrong on minimum contract. Shabazz plays a lot more like rotation player than Sterling Brown.

Has been out of the league playing overseas for 4 years not the kind of guy I would want considering trades could get us a lot better player.

I would look to scavenge off of other teams cuts and make a trade with Powell and Green outgoing before I would extend an offer to this career 31% 3 point shooter.

Maybe but I wonder which teams might bite on Mavs offer. I don't think Mike Conley is wanted nor the contract.

O. Robinson is playing good for Miami in the summer league. Do you think they will sign him? If they do, then I think O. Yurtseven gets available for cheap. One of them could be our 3rd center (or 2nd), I think they have some potencial to develop.

I don't think fans can count on new front office scouting and player development. I just think reaching out to Lofton and offer an active roster role and minute. Then, the 2nd unit would be fine.

You have to give the new office some time. You cant judge them for poor player development on the first year in office. There are GMs who have been 10 or more years in the league who have not developed a rookie into a star player.
