Yeah at that price Ainge can kick rocks... did he want the title to MSG as well?

That is a ton and goes along with reporting that they asked for a haul and Knicks gave an aggressive counter offer. Ainge has no leverage.

Any reports on our counter?

Let’s say we do give up all the assets that Ainge wants and we roll out a lineup of Brunson, Mitchell,
Barrett, Randle, Mitch with no bench and assets. How many games could we expect to win with this group compared to what we would have currently with a better bench and assets? You would have to increase your win total by 15 games to justify the package that Ainge wants. You make this type of trade when you’re one piece away from contending for a title. You don’t make this move when you would still be a few pieces away from contending even after completely depleting your team.

where does ainge go from here (there is no other team that can come close to that package)...talks aren't dead but sometimes you have to walk away to get the price to be lower.

Let Ainge go into this season with Mitchell still on the team. Either Mitchell will ruin his tank or he will not be as good without Rudy and get exposed. Some of you are so damn desperate its friggin pathetic.

Or he just sends him to Miami and kills any chance of this team getting any top talent for years to come

If Miami wants to give up 47 picks and Herro then let em. They cant even offer that many, but if they mustered it up then good riddance. We’ll survive without the midget.

What's with this midget crap? If you saw him in person you'd probably beg for an autograph. Show some respect to our future star player.

We have a lot of guys who can “pop” tho. Why not just see what they can do first?

We just signed Brunson to be our lead guard, who owned Mitchell in the playoffs, and now we’re gonna immediately relegate him to be Raymond Felton.

Its cool tho. Dont let me ruin everyone’s dreams.

Guess it all comes down to how confident you are in our young talent actually being good.. myself I’m not sold on any of them with my whole heart tbh.. I’m guessing a lot of my fellow Knick brethren and sisters feel the same going by the split in opinions on this. Honestly the fact that we can trade unproven dudes like grimes (who I like a lot but cmon) and reddish for Donovan feels like high way robbery

I understand bro, but do you see what Danny is asking for? Its not gonna be just Grimes and Cam and some picks. He wants it all, and we’ll prob give him 90% and call that a win. This is a package for a megastar.

So Ainge is gonna have a fire sale of all the veterans on the team and then try to play hard ball with Donovan Mitchell. That's gonna force Mitchell to publicly ask for a trade and then now he loses even more leverage. I think waiting it out is gonna work in our favor.

Nobody else can offer more and the more this plays out, the more Mitchell will get disgruntled especially if Ainge guts the team.

That’s exactly it, there’s no competition in terms of draft picks so let’s not bid against ourselves with Ainge.

As I said I believe they don’t want Mitchell on the team so they can get one of those top two picks next year.

We have no competition and we have a willing seller. Wait it out and if we lost to some crazy offer so be it

i guess he can suck up his ego and take a package less than he got for gobert, but ainge looks like a total egomaniac. at this point it's just beating out the heat right

Yooo fuq Ainge. That dude is a snake. Even tried to have his teammate Larry Legend traded. Hopefully Leon just walks from this.

I guess Im just way more comfortable seeing what Jalen’s got, along with having all our young players and picks. Emptying the cupboard for another 6 footer whose not a superstar is insanity for me.

Mitchell would take the ball out of Jalen’s hands on offense and our defense is always going to need to cover for them.

I understand those that want to go for it, but Mitchell is not it for me. Best of luck tho.

Take out Obi or Grimes and I say deal. But with 6 picks, I don't wanna do any pick swaps

GM’s around the league have to be cheering for Leon. No one, absolutely no one wants the Gobert trade to be the new norm. KD, Kyrie and any other trade this off-season will go based off this one. Rose and the Knicks could save the NBA by saying no. Get your mind right, come back with something reasonable

you need multiple ball handlers and shot creators to work in the NBA. No team wins with just one guys doing everything.

There is a real chance that Mitchell eventually says **** it now i want a trade out of here and Ainge loses even more leverage

If a deal was close as he’s claiming, then obviously the Knicks backed away and will come back with another offer, it’s negotiations, Ainge knows Knicks have what he wants, Knicks want Mitchell, Mitchell wants the Knicks. Something will get done, just depends on how long the negotiations take

Yup, Leon needs to push his team to go this route. I know he isn’t that type, but if he really wanted out before the Gobert/COVID thing, then it’s been long enough. Don’t end up like Dame being too scared to demand a deal and staying in purgatory forever.
