Easily Heat. I think Ja would have a Trae Young type series against us.

Just no. Miami has nobody on their roster who can stay in front of Ja. He likely averages 35+ against the Heat.

Miami wouldn’t fall to the Memphis chaos unless they were hurt, but that would be fairly likely. Everyone healthy, Miami in a beatdown. They’re so much smarter, so much more experienced and have maybe the best coach. Also I think the matchups work in Miami’s favour.

Nobody in the league can stay in front of Ja. Grizz would be tough with all their outside shooting too. But between Vincent, Oladipo, Lowry, Butler, Martin the Heat have more perimeter defenders than most teams that's for sure and can switch everything with Bam. No more Tucker but he was another one last year, team was full of defenders just weak inside.

Atlanta and the Knicks also thought because they made the second round/conference finals that'd it'd be a walk in the park the following year.

The heat have shown the ability to shut down star players and outside of Ja the grizzlies wouldn’t be able to score.

Interesting matchup. During the regular season last year, they took turns spanking each other on the road IIRC. The homer in me has to say Grizz until proven otherwise though.

Yea I think after Heat got swept following a finals appearance that they're fully aware of the challenges to follow up another deep postseason run. Hence why they're going all out for a star currently.
Anyways Spo has figured out how shutdown too ball dominant guards in the past for me to doubt him now or in this hypothetical match up.

I don't think Memphis improved at all. They lost Melton and Anderson while not adding anyone. They're banking on Morant becoming better but he has a big mouth so we'll see.

Wouldn't matter nearly as much though, Memphis's roster is worlds better than Atlanta's

I Remember how people said the same thing last year when they let go of Jonas Val and others.

Grizz are all about development while the heat are more established.

such a bad take..holy

first of all the complete disrespect to how much depth Memphis has compared to how much depth Atlanta has

Trae doesn't have guys like Desmond Bane, JJJ, Kyle Anderson, Tyus Jones, Steven Adams, etc.

anyways, Memphis would win. The more complete team. If Robert Williams could shut down Bam like that, well what is Bam going to be able to do against an even better shot blocker in JJJ. Also the youth and speed of the Grizz will be a huge advantage against guys like PJ Tucker and Lowry. On the offensive end it's going to be the Jimmy Butler show again. Miami's depth was grossly overrated. Also Tyler Herro literally peaked in the playoffs his rookie year and has only been worse since. Miami needed a freak performance from Gabe Struss to be competitive.

Grizzlies. They have way better bench and bigs.
