No, it's at least 5, because 1/2 will pretty surely convey, and the Bucks pick in 2025 is top 5 protected.

Again, Gobert was traded for 4 picks, 3 of which were unprotected and 1 which was high lottery protected, so not THAT proteced

If the Knicks trade 3 of their own, unprotected, that's got to be about the same as the Wolves, because all are 23/25/27 and both teams should be "decent" through 25 and 27 is getting into "crapshoot" territory - same

Wolves 2029 only protected top 5 has "good" potential, edge here to Wolves if Knicks don't do 2029 same way - if it's Mavs 2023 or any of the 3 on draft night, edge to Wolves - so here is the first negotiating point in the trade. Let's say since the perception is it's better, takes both of Wiz/Pistons picks, with the Mavs pick being used for Wessler.

Wessler/Bolomero are either worth similar 18-25 1st round picks OR similar players. Since Wessler hasn't played to establish some kind of value, let's make him equal to Mavs 2023 pick.

Bolomero hasn't played much but Jazz were good/didn't suck like Knick, so who knows. Grimes or Quickly.

People just like to nitpick. Spider has a 6'10" wingspan and Brunson is strong/tough. I don't think they are going to be Kemba and Fournier on defense. Plus height is such a nonfactor anyways. Length, lateral quickness and schemes play a much bigger role imo.

Should he though? I mean, not shatting the bed would hardly be a fire-able offense. Sure, if Rose fails to make the trade because he wouldn’t include McBride or something asinine like that, but the expectation gap seems to be a lot bigger than that.

In fact, I would much rather be the team that helps another team accumulate the draft picks to go after Mitchell. Say, Miami wants to go hard after Mitchell and are willing to do something crazy like Randle and 3 first round picks for Bam. I would much rather look for those
types of opportunities.

The best thing about this stuff happening in the summer is that it can coincide with family vacations, which can involve no cell reception for us.

Turning my phone on after a week away, if the situation has progressed, sweet - can't wait to catch up on the resolution! If it's the exact same, sweet - I didn't waste my time waiting for updates!

Realistically how do the front office see this starting 5 play out? Usage/roles etc. Assuming Mitchell comes and RJ/Randle stay.

Do they force Randle to change his game? How would they rank the usage of the starting 5?

3. Randle
4. RJ?

That would destroy RJ's development.

it would do the opposite, since opposing teams would have to always worry about his other teammates, which would give him more one on one opportunities and more energy to defend on the defensive end.
